Historical realism in a mythological context is oxymoronic.

It has parallels with The Pacific, in that they do away with origin stories and exposition you're already up to speed on from season one and dump you in another unfamiliar setting and that was just too jarring for a lot of people. But, yeah, season 2 is pure tragedy and as packed with details and connections as the other seasons. They write it so well, they make mundane work situations compelling.

Gotta be way way way worse than asparagus pee

In 2022, Trump filed a bogus defamation lawsuit against the Pulitzer Prize Board for giving awards to multiple papers for their reporting on the Trump-Russia scandal.

As one of the first people to investigate Trump’s Russian ties, I can say that those who won the awards deserved it. They dug in hard, unlike most of corporate media.

Well, now it looks like this lawsuit is backfiring spectacularly. The Pulitzer Board is demanding Trump’s legal team turn over his psychological records, medication history, all of his tax returns from 2015 to now, and all physical exams. Trump might want to just drop this.

The morbid milestone marks the deadliest year in ICE in-custody deaths in decades

NEW YORK — Attorney General Pam Bondi has a “conflict of interest” that “provides yet another reason” why the death penalty should be stricken from the federal case against accused murderer Luigi Mangione, his attorneys argued in a new court filing.

Mangione has pleaded not guilty to federal charges that accused him of stalking and murdering UnitedHealthcare chief executive Brian Thompson and has been fighting the government’s notice of intent to seek the death penalty if he’s convicted.

In an overnight court filing, defense attorneys accused Bondi of failing to disclose her work at the lobbying firm Ballard Partners, which “lists UnitedHealth Group as a regular client ,” and “that she personally financially profited from Ballard’s lucrative relationship with UHG.”
