This happens when the busses lose their pheromone trail and follow each other until they die of exhaustion.

LANDLORDS COWER IN FEAR OF MAOTRAIN
"that train pic is too powerful lmao" - u/Cadende

Dont laugh buses only do this when they're extremely distressed
"no way to prevent this" says only transportation authority where this routinely happens

An ant mill is an observed phenomenon in which a group of army ants, separated from the main foraging party, lose the pheromone track and begin to follow one another, forming a continuously rotating circle. This circle is commonly known as a "death spiral" because the ants might eventually die of exhaustion.
i'm really glad the wiki for ant mill led to the wiki for rat kings so I could learn that The Last of Us zombie was a reference to actual real life horrors
awww they're protecting the cars from all the angry traffic
Hahahahahaha oh man I’d be so mad
"So this isn't the first time this has happened in this city? Hm. I wonder where this i--" [notices Ruter logo on the bus] "--oh."
I guess bus drivers aren't very good at the snake game
Mr. Beast pays 10 bus drivers 1 million to recreate snake!

This is real and happened today, (in Norwegian) https://www.vg.no/nyheter/i/3pkoP9/busser-fast-paa-alexander-kiellands-plass-i-oslo

we must reinvent the bus so that it can strafe

I always wondered why that song was 8.5 minutes long...
Also, I love the frequency of examples that arise in car infrastructure where "everyone seeking their own local and immediate 'best'" results in hilariously bad situations like this. Then we're still expected to take that stance seriously in economics
I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
Looks like some civil engineers need to watch a Factorio train tutorial smh, roundabout 101
Renai Transportation
I want to ride the bus cube
3 bus maximum, folks. Come on.
If you ever played factorio, you know you should avoid 4 way intersections as much as possible to avoid deadlocks, specially when you have a lot of trains on the network
Moscow has the better Red Square, all things considered
If you want better bandwidth, you need a wider bus.
Another win for trains: Bus roundabout failure.
Is there something like a roundabout for trains?
i don't get it, are the buses automated leading to this?
Look at that poor bus in the top left being left out of the circle, it's so sad
