An ant mill is an observed phenomenon in which a group of army ants, separated from the main foraging party, lose the pheromone track and begin to follow one another, forming a continuously rotating circle. This circle is commonly known as a "death spiral" because the ants might eventually die of exhaustion.

Also, I love the frequency of examples that arise in car infrastructure where "everyone seeking their own local and immediate 'best'" results in hilariously bad situations like this. Then we're still expected to take that stance seriously in economics

If you ever played factorio, you know you should avoid 4 way intersections as much as possible to avoid deadlocks, specially when you have a lot of trains on the network
Moscow has the better Red Square, all things considered
