Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.

Rules
  1. πŸ˜‡ Be Nice!

    • Treat others with respect and dignity. Friendly banter is okay, as long as it is mutual; keyword: friendly.
  2. 🏘️ Community Standards

    • Comics should be a full story, from start to finish, in one post.
    • Posts should be safe and enjoyable by the majority of community members, both here on lemmy.world and other instances.
    • Any comic that would qualify as raunchy, lewd, or otherwise draw unwanted attention by nosy coworkers, spouses, or family members should be tagged as NSFW.
    • Moderators have final say on what and what does not qualify as appropriate. Use common sense, and if need be, err on the side of caution.
  3. 🧬 Keep it Real

    • Comics should be made and posted by real human beans, not by automated means like bots or AI. This is not the community for that sort of thing.
  4. πŸ“½οΈ Credit Where Credit is Due

    • Comics should include the original attribution to the artist(s) involved, and be unmodified. Bonus points if you include a link back to their website. When in doubt, use a reverse image search to try to find the original version. Repeat offenders will have their posts removed, be temporarily banned from posting, or if all else fails, be permanently banned from posting.
    • Attributions include, but are not limited to, watermarks, links, or other text or imagery that artists add to their comics to use for identification purposes. If you find a comic without any such markings, it would be a good idea to see if you can find an original version. If one cannot be found, say so and ask the community for help!
  5. πŸ“‹ Post Formatting

    • Post an image, gallery, or link to a specific comic hosted on another site; e.g., the author's website.
    • Meta posts about the community should be tagged with [Meta] either at the beginning or the end of the post title.
    • When linking to a comic hosted on another site, ensure the link is to the comic itself and not just to the website; e.g.,
      βœ… Correct: https://xkcd.com/386/
      ❌ Incorrect: https://xkcd.com/
  6. πŸ“¬ Post Frequency/SPAM

    • Each user (regardless of instance) may post up to five (5 πŸ–) comics a day. This can be any combination of personal comics you have written yourself, or other author's comics. Any comics exceeding five (5 πŸ–) will be removed.
  7. πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈ Internationalization (i18n)

    • Non-English posts are welcome. Please tag the post title with the original language, and include an English translation in the body of the post; e.g.,
      SΓ, por favor [Spanish/EspaΓ±ol]
  8. 🍿 Moderation

    • We are human, just like most everybody else on Lemmy. If you feel a moderation decision was made in error, you are welcome to reach out to anybody on the moderation team for clarification. Keep in mind that moderation decisions may be final.
    • When reporting posts and/or comments, quote which rule is being broken, and why you feel it broke the rules.
Web Accessibility

Note: This is not a rule, but a helpful suggestion.

When posting images, you should strive to add alt-text for screen readers to use to describe the image you're posting:

Another helpful thing to do is to provide a transcription of the text in your images, as well as brief descriptions of what's going on. (example)

$60 for that, she got fucked all right.

[–] jimerson@lemmy.world 92 points 5 months ago (4 children)

I'm as out of touch with makeup prices as a politician is with groceries, so I didn't flinch at the $60; but it did make me feel like it's got to be way more expensive just to exist within our culture's expectations if you are a woman.

Don’t forget the time cost. In high school, I really resented having to get up ~30 minutes early at minimum to put on the shit. Then you have to wash it all of your face before you go to sleep.

Then there’s shaving. I just didn’t own shorts until after I transitioned, because I hated that shit but having any kind of leg hair will get commented on negatively.

Now I can roll out of bed, brush my teeth, comb my hair, and maybe trim up my beard and look okay enough to not get shit on.

The brand name alone says so much about that.

[–] Ediacarium@feddit.org 20 points 5 months ago (1 children)

That's why I use Bussy Cosmetics

[–] Test_Tickles@lemmy.world 10 points 5 months ago

Bussy Cosmetics - Easier to Get and Cheap as Shit!

I dunno, Harleys aren't cheap.

[–] buddascrayon@lemmy.world 27 points 5 months ago (2 children)

she got fucked all right.

I don't think you quite understand how bukkake works.

[–] Goretantath@lemmy.world 28 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Still can get gangbanged and they all finish outside.

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 18 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Gotta mix the paint before applying.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 6 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Are they not using primer at these things?

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 7 points 5 months ago

Trying for the one coat application by slathering it on.

She got fucked anyway would have been more accurate, I agree

It looks like she's at the store trying the tester. $60 for a highlighter is legit insane though.

[–] tempest@lemmy.ca 9 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I've been in a Sephora once or twice and tiny bottles worth 60$ seems pretty common place?

[–] klemptor@startrek.website 14 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

Sephora has a boatload of products. $60 isn't unheard of for some things like skincare, but a $60 highlighter is likely to be a luxury brand like Dior, Westman Atelier, Guerlain, or Prada. And the difference between those and less expensive highlighters is that you're paying for the brand name. For $30-40 you can get a mid-tier highlighter like Nars, ABH, or Rare Beauty that will still be beautiful and probably has more product per dollar than the luxury brand does.

For example: the ABH Glow Seeker highlighter is $40 for 11 grams which equals $3.64 per gram

And the Dior Forever Glow highlighter is $60 for 6 grams which equals $10 per gram

People can spend their money how they want but personally I'd never pay $60 for a highlighter.

Who doesn't love a bukkake queen?

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 35 points 5 months ago (4 children)

Other, rival bukkake queens and kings, for one. Bukkake princesses. Potentially even a jealous bukkake duke or bukkake courtier. You never can play it too safe.

[–] tempest@lemmy.ca 11 points 5 months ago (1 children)

It never occurred to me there would exist an entire bukkake Bridgerton

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 7 points 5 months ago

Isn't that just Bridgerton? (I haven't watched it, full disclosure.)

[–] tetris11@feddit.uk 4 points 5 months ago

Why can't these bukkake monarchs just learn to share, or at least contribute to the greater whole as equals. So all can benefit.

[–] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

What about an evil bukkake step mother who hides the bukkake princess's royal lineage from her

[–] Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

That peerage system is headcannon now. Kind of adds weird drama and subtext to the erotic video industry. I'm imagining Hamlet, except instead of Prince of Denmark, he's COO of a large adult film distributer.

Doubt thou the stars are fire;

Doubt that the sun doth move;

Doubt truth to be a liar;

But never doubt I love cum.

Wonder if they are hiring.

In my experience the biggest difference between products for men and women is how much it resembles semen.

[–] DrDystopia@lemy.lol 1 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

Women's stuff is more likely to be more like semen in my experience, like shower soap and deodorants. Nicely scented shampoo and lotions.

Went to a beauty store and asked for a new face lotion. They recommended a certain variant which wasn't as runny but otherwise the same. Because I was a guy. The pro's know!

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip 5 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

Expensive. It's likely full of cancer.

edit: No joke. I have a skin condition so i often have to look ingredients up.
And experience shows; the more expensive the product in comparison, the more ingredients generally and the more petrochemicals with carcinogen or hormonally active properties in there.
