Hello fellow Garfield fans!
About this community and how I post the comic strip⦠The comics are posted in chronological order on the day (usually) they were released. Posting them to match the release date adds a bit of fun and nostalgia to match the experience of reading them in the newspaper for first time. Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips. It really sucked when I missed a day. Only years later, when I got the books was I able to catch up on the missed strips.
Garfield is an American comic strip created by Jim Davis. Originally published locally as Jon in 1976, then in nationwide syndication from 1978 as Garfield, it chronicles the life of the title character Garfield the cat, his human owner Jon Arbuckle, and Odie the dog. As of 2013, it was syndicated in roughly 2,580 newspapers and journals and held the Guinness World Record for being the world's most widely syndicated comic strip... Garfield: I'm going to jog this morning. Of course, it will be cold when I start. But, then I'll get hot and sweaty. And my heart will pound, making me dizzy. I'll get blisters on my feet. Then I'll be stiff and sore for days. Jogging probably wouldn't be so bad. But the anticipation is killing me.

Liz: Your cat is extremely overweight, Mr. Arbuckle. It could lead to serious heart problems.
Jon: Not to worry. I don't think Garfield has a heart. See?!

Jon: Why don't you like me?
Liz: You're wishy-washy, crude, and a twerp.
Jon: I mean aside from that.

Jon: It's time to go to the veterinary clinic, Garfield.
Garfield: Sometimes I think Jon uses me as an excuse to see that lady vet. Especially when he forgets to take me along.

Jon: Forget my cat. Can't we get started without him?
Liz: Sure. First a vitamin E shot to give your coat a keener sheen.
Jon: I'll get my cat.

Garfield: NO! I RESPECT MY WARMBLOODED BROTHERS AND SISTERS MORE THAN THAT! I'll reserve my abuse for the lower life forms.

Garfield: Why do people expect us cats to eat mice? This mouse could be somebody's mother. This mouse could be a deacon in its little mouse church. And one of the fuzzy sucker's bones might get caught in my throat.

Garfield: Now what do I do with it?
Jon: Eat it!
Garfield: Who knows where that mouse has been?
