Hello fellow Garfield fans!
About this community and how I post the comic strip⦠The comics are posted in chronological order on the day (usually) they were released. Posting them to match the release date adds a bit of fun and nostalgia to match the experience of reading them in the newspaper for first time. Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips. It really sucked when I missed a day. Only years later, when I got the books was I able to catch up on the missed strips.
Garfield is an American comic strip created by Jim Davis. Originally published locally as Jon in 1976, then in nationwide syndication from 1978 as Garfield, it chronicles the life of the title character Garfield the cat, his human owner Jon Arbuckle, and Odie the dog. As of 2013, it was syndicated in roughly 2,580 newspapers and journals and held the Guinness World Record for being the world's most widely syndicated comic strip... Garfield: It IS kind of pretty out here on the farm. Walt Disney, eat your heart out.

Jon: Now that the sun has set, we come to the exciting part. We turn around to watch the moon rise.
Garfield: Be still my beating heart.

Dad: When I was your ge I was married and had a kid.
Jon: Yeh, me!
Dad: Good argument, son. But I still think you should get married.

Mom: The light bulb's burned out. Don't worry about me. I'll just sit here in the dark going blind.
Jon: I'll fix it.
Mom: He's such a good boy.

Jon: Mothers equate love with food. When they feed you they're saying, "I love you".
Mom: Eat, eat, eat.
Garfield: And I love you, too.

Jon: Just remember, Garfield. When we get to the farm you are there to relax. I know last time you wanted to be helpful... But you do not grow chickens by planting chickens in the ground!
Garfield: It was an honest mistake.

Jon: I'm going out, Garfield. The women will be hysterical over me.
Garfield: That outfit's hysterical.
Jon: What do you think of my attire?
Garfield: It could use some alteration. Let's tuck that tie in and add some vents to the sleeves. A smart cat knows just how far to go without crossing over the line. Perhaps a more rakish tilt to the hat.

Garfield: I love lasagna fresh from the oven: the tomato sauce, the meat, the melted cheese.
Jon: GARFIELD!
