When we were kids, my single working mom would give me and my sister each a hit of Benadryl before a long car trip. It's the reason we're still alive.

I do the same with my dog.
Bruh I wish I had that, I threw up a lot in car rides lol. :/
You can't sneeze if you're unconscious
Yes you fucking can, I've seen it, it's funny.
Benadryl: take as much as you can and SEE THE HATMAN AND APIDERS AND SMOKE CIGARETTES THAT ARENT THERE AND DRIVE A CAR WAIT YOURE NOT DRIVING A CAR YOURE IN YOUR LIVING ROOM WHY IS THERE BROKEN GLASS, WAIT NO THE GLASS IS FINE THE HAT MAN FIXED IT THE SHADOW PEOPLE ARE YOUR FRIENDS BUT WAIT NOW THEYRE NOT SHADOWS YOURE AT A PARTY WHERE DID EVERYONE GO WHERE IS YOUR CIGARETTE WHY ARE THERE SO MANY SPIDERS.
My wife had a serious, call 911-level, allergic reaction. The EMTs gave her diphenhydramine and Epi, and she got more at the hospital. She did not recommend the experience.
Glad she's okay. My youngest has some pretty gnarly allergies as well
I took 100mg of diphenhydramine marketed as a sleep aid when I was really struggling to sleep for days. I still didn't sleep, but I felt as relaxed as a diazepam would make me and I had some very minor visuals so that was nice at least.
Did you see the hat man? I've also heard that spiders are common with diphenhydramine.
No I didn't get any full on hallucinations, just light visual patterns. I don't know if it's actually pretty tame or if the dosage required to actually trip on it is massive.
Pretty much. I saw an allergist recently and he said Benadryl doesn't really help with allergies, but was like, "hey if it helps you sleep go for it." ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Benadryl is good for immediate relief to allergies but doesn't last long.
Tbh if your allergist said this I'd probably find a new one.
Yes second gen antihistamines have fewer side effects but benadryl works faster (zyrtec takes about an hour and benadryl takes like 30 mins) so in some cases its called for.
As far as I can tell, it just makes me antsy instead of knocking me out. I wish it could be a sleep aid
