Wait how is a bloody handprint anti semitic? Is it because it has a connection with"Having blood on your hands" and zionists are aware that they do in fact have blood on their hands?

You know I think i was actually aware of this but forgot.

I'm pretty sure the bloody hand thing is referring to the 2000 Ramallah "lynching" where Palestinians in the West Bank broke into a police station that was housing Israeli soldiers. Two Zionist soldiers were beaten to death and one of the Palestinians went to the window with bloody hands to show off to a cheering crowd. Since then a bloody hand symbol has often been used as a symbol of Palestinian resistance against the Zionist Entity.

A bloody handprint on its own has been a symbol meaning something like "ceasefire" in Palestine for a while now. But in this case it's just Halloween decorations and Zionists are so cooked in the brain they believe everything is about them. Hardly anyone in America recognizes the bloody hand as a symbol of Palestinian resistance.

I've tried 4 times to type out how odd this is, but it's a lot of layers down. Zionists mistaking anti-zionism for anti-Semitism inherently associating blood and handprints in blood with Jewishness and getting upset at anti-zionists because they've made that association themselves and thus making it a real association in public. Did that make sense?

I guess this is generally how the current conception of anti-Semitism among Zionists has developed anyways though. Not too unique

it's not a mistake, zionists want the jewish diaspora to feel uncomfortable so they'll see israel as the only safe place to be.

I think it computes

Nah the bloody hand thing is a conflation with the thing in 2000 where two Zionist soldiers were beaten to death in Ramallah and the Palestinian who did it showed off bloody hands to a crowd

But yes Zionists are on a hair trigger and believe everything is about them

Has that ever since been used??? Because that feels like a huge stretch for people to actually believe instead of that this is a Genocide accusation. I'd never heard of the bloody hands outside of that very specific context

Yeah it's been used by various Palestinian groups, but less so outside of Palestine itself. One notable use of the bloody hand in recent times was the Artists4Ceasefire group of American celebrities who use it as their logo.

Like here, here's Mark Ruffalo and Billie Eilish wearing Artists4Ceasefire pins at the 2024 Oscars, which have a bloody handprint logo. But I do think their logo is detached from the actual 2000 Ramallah thing and is more connected to the handprint symbol in an abstract way.

It is a symbol that gets used but I do agree that Zionists think everything is about them.

Interesting, thanks for the context. I will look into Palestinians using it, I was unaware of any other usage!

I'm with some of the commenters, how the fuck do you relate this to anti-Semitism or even anti-Zionism or whatever?? It's like bloody handprints near Halloween, no shit, like.. damn.

[–] axont@hexbear.net 21 points 2 months ago

the bloody hand symbol has been used as either a symbol of Palestinian resistance or as Zionist fear mongering since around 2000, where two Zionist soldiers were beaten to death in the city of Ramallah

edgeworth-smug "That's right, anti-semitic. They have bloody handprints, for what? Halloween! And what is Halloween? The day to remember the dead! And what did Israel create a truly horrific number of dead? Palestinians! And what do zionists pretend all Palestinians are? Hamas! And finally, what do we lie that Hamas is trying to do to Israel? Pre-cisely! QED"

The contents of these elevators spilling out into the hallway is antisemitic
