I've tried 4 times to type out how odd this is, but it's a lot of layers down. Zionists mistaking anti-zionism for anti-Semitism inherently associating blood and handprints in blood with Jewishness and getting upset at anti-zionists because they've made that association themselves and thus making it a real association in public. Did that make sense?
I guess this is generally how the current conception of anti-Semitism among Zionists has developed anyways though. Not too unique
it's not a mistake, zionists want the jewish diaspora to feel uncomfortable so they'll see israel as the only safe place to be.
I think it computes
Nah the bloody hand thing is a conflation with the thing in 2000 where two Zionist soldiers were beaten to death in Ramallah and the Palestinian who did it showed off bloody hands to a crowd
But yes Zionists are on a hair trigger and believe everything is about them
Has that ever since been used??? Because that feels like a huge stretch for people to actually believe instead of that this is a Genocide accusation. I'd never heard of the bloody hands outside of that very specific context
Yeah it's been used by various Palestinian groups, but less so outside of Palestine itself. One notable use of the bloody hand in recent times was the Artists4Ceasefire group of American celebrities who use it as their logo.
Like here, here's Mark Ruffalo and Billie Eilish wearing Artists4Ceasefire pins at the 2024 Oscars, which have a bloody handprint logo. But I do think their logo is detached from the actual 2000 Ramallah thing and is more connected to the handprint symbol in an abstract way.
It is a symbol that gets used but I do agree that Zionists think everything is about them.
Interesting, thanks for the context. I will look into Palestinians using it, I was unaware of any other usage!
