USA is run by a bunch of evil amateurs that don't give a shit about the harm they are causing. not even when it's to their own population.
On the contrary it seems like they are doing harm to their own population on purpose.
This is part of their plan to destroy democracy and turn USA into a dictatorship. The idea is to desensitize the population and undermine morale.

Best wishes to all Americans that are opposing the MAGA administration.

This is the liquidation of the country. Squeezing every last fraction of a penny of value out of the taxpayers and the systems that served us all.

Oh no, that's not even the beginning of that yet, the real pain will come when democracy is completely dead.
If you think it's bad now? You have no idea how bad it can get.

This is what people need to realise: Despite everything, the US still has a concept of free and fair elections (no national election has been blatantly called off or couped yet) and parts of the judiciary are still making a fuss about laws being broken.

While it may look bad now, remember that what we're seeing is still miles from a full autocracy where elections are purely for show and the judiciary exists only to go after enemies of the state.

I'm a pessimist and past few years have been showing how it can get worse even when I can't imagine how much worse it can get.

There's only one guarantee, as long as there are two people on the planet, it CAN get worse.

Forced labour will be part of it.

What Putin wants to happen, a Balkanization at a massive scale.

[–] Buffalox@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yes he would guaranteed be totally ecstatic if that happened to USA and EU, except, it's more likely to happen for the Russian federation.

He managed to stifle even the concept of civil disobedience, having killed much of the opposition, used nostalgia of Brezhnev years and immense resources to convince most Russians they can still outlast the West.

In any case, ruining the West with any means without firing a shot, which includes pandemic by government-sponsored ignorance, is a feat he would love to accomplish. And Trump is his vehicle to bring in the end.

He's not scrambling to do anything, the headline is deliberately misleading.

[–] gAlienLifeform@lemmy.world 44 points 1 month ago (1 children)

"The small remaining fraction of the administration that is slightly in touch with reality desperately working through the weekend to undo all of the damage their idiot bosses are doing" would have been a lot to fit in a headline tbf

[–] HurlingDurling@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Then do "Trump administration..."

[–] y0kai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 59 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I hope they hold out a bit and demand double the pay to return

[–] ltxrtquq@lemmy.ml 26 points 1 month ago

It's not like the government can pay anyone anything right now, might as well not work for free.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 35 points 1 month ago (3 children)

What, like 15 minutes after they fired 1000 people?

[–] frunch@lemmy.world 22 points 1 month ago

Seeing how they do everything without thinking ahead, like impulsive children--yes, i imagine that's exactly how it went down

[–] grue@lemmy.world 17 points 1 month ago (1 children)

These articles are so close together in my feed I literally don't know which came first.

Yeah, seems like it. My guess is that RFK pulled the trigger and fired the CDC employees, then Trump (or more accurately the last person Trump spoke to) freaked out and said "this is really really bad, these are the people who stop pandemics" and then they scrambled to reverse it

I mean, it's not like they do it through proper channels, they're just mass emailing their orders and going back on vacation

Trump is working to give everyone a salary boost by firing them, then scrambling to hire them back at 5x their previous rate! He truly is the saviour of the American working joe!

/s for those who can't read between the lines.
