Going to put on my tin foil and approach the lathe for a moment. What if she was raised to be a bigoted right winger and just didn't know better. She gets to DC and her beliefs start to crumble in the face of reality and the experience slowly radicalizes her into an MLM and she brings about the revolution. It'd be pretty funny.
