That's right, it goes in the square hole!

Poor girl, she was suffering so much inside, it was painful to watch

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I hope you are joking. Her acting makes me cry with laughter.

[–] guy@piefed.social 5 points 3 days ago

Her genuine and heartfelt emotions was agonizing to watch

Everything can be made with triangles. You just need enough of them.

Hexagons are the bestagons

Infinitely many for curved stuff

Depends on how much resolution you need

[–] Darkassassin07@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Sure; but even then you need variation on the dimensions/sizes.

Just throw in some triangular duct tape. 250 piece triangle puzzle, you bet we can make wheels out of it. Now every road is cobblestone

I like to imagine that they are squishy like sponges.

He means well.

I'm not sure what this is trying to convey.

[–] AnIntenseMoist@lemmy.world 27 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Just because some therapy works for you, doesn't mean the same therapy will work for others.

[–] chemical_cutthroat@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago (4 children)

Yeah, I get that, but the guy just seems to be happy to share what he's learned, and it's kinda shitting on the fact that he's trying to be helpful because he found help.

[–] garbagebagel@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago

Interesting, didn't read it quite the same way. Generally I do think it's a warning to not try to apply the same solution to other problems, but the guy appears to have good intentions and so this feels to me like more of a gentle reminder rather than a "boo you suck for trying to help people".

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 7 points 2 days ago

Look closer. He's not sharing or offering. He's just throwing it at people. He hit one of them in the head

He's very self satisfied and sure he has the answers, but stunted as a person. He has the simplest shape missing, and he thinks everyone is just this one realization away from being him in his improved form

[–] guy@piefed.social 4 points 3 days ago

Ish? I get what you mean but I think the point is how newly saved want to spread their salvation to everyone else and missing that your solution is not others. Or you are right, I dunno. Now the comic seems more depressing then fun

[–] workerONE@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I think he's trying to tell other people that they will be helped by the thing that helped him

[–] chemical_cutthroat@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

If he was shoving triangles down their throats then I'd be more on your side, but I see it as a person who got help and wants to share that help with other.

[–] AnIntenseMoist@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

To me it looks like he's throwing triangles around without actually caring about what kind of help the other people need. If he was just sharing and trying to be helpful, we wouldn't see a triangle bouncing off his friend's (?) head with many more scattered about. His intentions are probably good, but that doesn't mean his type of help is wanted by them.

We could just be reading a lot into a silly comic though.

My take is different. I know someone who started going to therapy because their kids threatened no contact. They're on medication now but the narcissism still persists. Now, they act enlightened and projects their shortcomings on to others by not so subtly encouraging them to watch self help vids that only validate their own feelings. They are basically going, "see? I'm better now. This video talks about letting the past stay in the past so we call all get along," but now the subtext is that the others are the problem.

What helps you does not necessarily apply to others too

See also, what happens when you complain about the current state cell phones or windows or any of the other tech that is constantly enshittifiying.

Yeah! Triangle! I just surfed around the world!

That star person is just a few triangles away from perfect. It might just take a couple of tries.
