(3/3) If there's a big jump, it's from them manually dumping urine from a separate tank that wasn't connected (likely from the Russian side that doesn't have its own urine recycling).

I wonder if the manual piss moving container on the IIS is specialized for the task or something they had to macguiver on the spot and just kinda kept using.

I'm subscribed to oxygennotincluded@lemmy.ml - seems dead, though.

For those interested in it

All telemetry data of the ISS (may take some seconds to load the data)

Urine, like other waste water is recycled again to drink water in space stations.

Is this a real account on BKSY?

[–] Mike_Hunt@lemmy.ml 8 points 3 months ago

It was out of this world

Well, it's noy so strange, it sound only strange becaus they show only one of the multiples telemetries of the ISS. The amount of Urine is only one of a huge amount of different datas, to control the resources of the station in a circular system of water. The amount of water from earth is limited and not enough for an team for several month, if they don't recycle the waste water and also the urine. Because of this is needed to know the exact amount of it. Even so, after some month in the ISS, they describe the smell as one of an puma cage.
