Tbh though, reading Saxton Hale beat up hippies felt viscerally uncomfortable the first time I went through the comics and to this day, after dropping it, I still can't tell if that was trying to make a dig at something or glorify real-world parallels of what Saxton did- and I'm not particularly interested in finishing it to find out. yeah, despite Heavy being literally front and center on almost every TF2 related image, this character is a missed opportunity through-and-through, it seeps into the very design of his gameplay.

Your the slowest character in the game in a game where high-octane movement (save for the Sniper and Engie) can absolutely determine games, you're pidgeonholed into meta loadouts because your alternatives are so situationally niche that they only end up working for some gamemodes (Brass Beast and MvM) or are straight up downgrades (Natascha), and the only variety you can add to shooting a stream of hitscan hitboxes (Minigun) is by kneecapping and hemorrhaging yourself to using only your shotgun (Fat Scout).

Everything about this character is an afterthought followed by another. His only "saving grace" is him being overweight, so as to justify writing fat joke lines for other characters in the game..

Even his cosmetics and items barely have any references to Russian media, the most you'll get is a reskin, the "Iron Curtain".
