It's funny I love stuff like pizza and pasta and yet I have a hard time eating tomatoes straight up as a soup or cherry tomatoes in a salad.

a hard time eating tomatoes straight up as a soup

Tomato soup is one of the seven food wonders of the world, a good tomato soup with some croutons is prime comfort food. You should give it another shot

It’s such a delight to try tomato soups from different cuisines ie Turkish, South Asian, Chinese, etc

I like to have it with a nice tofu sandwich to dunk.

I'll have to try it prepared another way then. Straight out of the can and heated or from an anglo restaurant is the only ways I've tried it.

I find cherry tomatoes too sweet straight up

I usually roast them with a little salt and pepper and it gives them a nicer depth of flavor

Tomato soup is the same, I gotta roast those bad boys for a bit before I soupify them

Only time I prefer raw tomato is on a nice tomato sandwich and it's got to be an immaculate tomato for that

Cherry tomatoes make my mouth itch, i think the nightshade skin to flesh ratio is off -- that's okay I'll keep eating that garbage

I thought it was a reaction everyone has to nightshades to a larger or smaller degree? Like I can eat cherry tomatoes but my mouth itches, same with eggplant. But larger tomatoes and potatoes I'm fine. So it's probably an allergy but a tolerable one, in that case...

Hmm. I don't get an itchy mouth with tomatoes of any kind, but maybe it is common idk

scared i should ask other people... it won't be the first time i thought something uncomfortable was 'just normal'

Hahaha I have the same thing with fruits and went through the same- “wait doesn’t everyone’s lower lip kinda swell up after eating apples, cherries, etc?”. Our bodies just crave danger so much, they have to manufacture their own

The 74-40 tomatoes being unpeeled and unsliced in the picture is very confusing
