I have to imagine Stalin enjoyed widespread popularity for providing leadership and marshaling forces during a global, industrial war of extermination brought by fascists, and that any opportunism of others in the political sphere hitching their wagon to him by way of open, blind support, was owed to his achievements.
comparing MAGA to that is absurd. what has Trump achieved? celebrity/reality stardom? he isn't even that popular, and all he's done is exposed how there is a much larger demand for a politician saying they will do something than there is a supply for the same.
