Iran and Israel have struck each other many times over the last few days. There has been a general focus on military facilities and headquarters by both sides, though Israel has also struck oil facilities, civilian structures and hospitals, and in return for this, Iran has struck major scientific centers and the Haifa oil facilities.

Israel appears to have three main aims. First, to collapse the Iranian state, either through shock and breakdown by killing enough senior officials, or via some sort of internal military coup. Second, to try and destroy Iranian nuclear sites and underground missile cities, or at least to paralyze them long enough to achieve the first and third goals. And third, to bring the US into a direct conflict with Iran. This is because the US better equipped to fight them than Israel is (though victory would still not be guaranteed depending on what Iran chooses to do).

Iranian nuclear facilities are hidden deep underground (800 meters), far beyond the depth range of even the most powerful bunker busters (~70 meters or so), and built such that the visible ground entrances are horizontally far away in an unknown direction from the actual underground chambers. Only an extremely competent full-scale American bombing force all simultaneously using multiple of the most powerful conventional (perhaps even nuclear) bunker busters could even hypothetically hope to breach them (and we have seen how, in practice, American bunker busters have largely failed to impair or deter Ansarallah). There are several analysts on both sides who have concluded that it is entirely impossible to physically prevent Iran from building nukes.

I fully expect the US to join the war. I believe the current ambiguity is a deliberate invention of the US while they work to move their military assets into position, and as soon as they are ready, the US will start bombing Iran. After that, Iran's leadership must - if they haven't already - harden their hearts, and strike back with no fear, or risk following the path of Libya, Syria, and Iraq, either into either surrender, occupation, or annihilation. Every day where they do not possess a nuke is a day where lives are being lost and cities are being bombed.

Israel-Palestine Conflict

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

UNRWA reports on Israel's destruction and siege of Gaza and the West Bank.

Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Examples of Ukrainian Nazis and fascists
Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Sources:

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
Simplicius, who publishes on Substack. Like others, his political analysis should be soundly ignored, but his knowledge of weaponry and military strategy is generally quite good.
On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Pro-Russian Telegram Channels:

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.
https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.
https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.
https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.
https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.

https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.
https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

Pro-Ukraine Telegram Channels:

Almost every Western media outlet.

F-22s at RAF Lakenheath in the UK, on their way to the Middle East in the US military buildup against Iran. Drop tanks attached to help cross the Atlantic and/or carry the pilot's personal belongings.

Alleged disassembly of the DPRK's Hwasong-11A Ballistic Missile

https://xcancel.com/FPGAX_/status/1922849860740424021

If this is real I think the most notable thing about it is that it's a hand-soldered SMT board. No idea where this was acquired from to do the disassembly, maybe used in Ukraine/Kursk?

With Russia being such a big weapons supplier to India, and China of Pakistan, and given the relations of India and Pakistan to the US, is there potential for India-Pakistan tensions to undermine the Russia-China relationship?

Al Jazeera - emphasis mine.

‘Cowardly Iranian dictator’ fires at Israel from his ‘protected bunker’: Katz

Iran’s supreme leader “fires targeted shots at hospitals and residential buildings in Israel”, Israel Defence Minister Israel Katz was quoted as saying by the country’s Channel 12 broadcaster. These are war crimes of the most serious kind – and Khamenei will be held accountable for his crimes, the minister also said, according to the outlet.

Iran has stated via state media that the target of this morning’s strike was a military and intelligence facility adjacent to Soroka hospital, and our reporting has confirmed that the strike did not actually hit the medical centre. Katz added that he has instructed the Israeli military to increase “the intensity of attacks” against “strategic targets” in Iran.

what are the pros and cons of an Iranian preemptive strike? for what legality is worth, the hostile positioning of US assets within the theater with the openly stated purpose of a pending decision to attack clearly constitutes an act of aggression. What about the middle path of threatening preemption by giving the US an ultimatum to stop hostile deployments else Iran will decide whether a strike is warranted?

Fordow attack caught on satellite video. Look for a small flash at it's location. I'm deleting the embedded video as it's screwing up the thread for me. Click source link on xcancel for video.

Source

On the B-2s, it looks like the 3 B-2s with the undeclared destination, MYTEE 11-13, ended up flying east over the Atlantic to Iran, and dropped 6x GBU-57 MOPs on Fordow. MYTEE 21-23 flew west over the Pacific to Guam.

Does this White House correspondent on Al Jazeera have a fatwa on calling Trump Trump? She is exclusively calling him "the U.S. President" even when it would be less cumbersome to just use his name.

Edit - After about fifty times saying "the U.S. President," she did finally use his name! But only after using Obama's. Maybe now I can pay attention to the other words she's saying.

I don't remember who posted about it, but I thought I saw something where an Israeli official was insinuating that they would engage in terrorist attacks that would be worse than the pager explosions in Lebanon. Anyone have any thoughts or more information on that if true?

CNN

Mazandaran is north of Tehran.

As Israel’s attack on Iran is in its fifth day, many are fleeing the Iranian capital of Tehran and seeking refuge in the Caspian Sea province of Mazandaran. One evacuee told CNN it took more than 14 hours to reach Shomal, a popular holiday destination in the north that would normally be just a three-hour journey. “Everyone left Tehran, basically everyone I know has left the city,” the person said. “People in Shomal have opened their doors to people from Tehran, taking people in.”

“They bombed my house, my street yesterday,” the person added. “All the windows have turned to powder, the lobby of the building is gone.” With an influx of displaced residents, Mazandaran’s governor said bakeries will begin operating 24 hours a day starting tomorrow. “Our goal is for the people to be able to easily and without worry get fresh, warm bread at any time of the day or night when they need it,” the governor said, according to the semi-official Mehr News Agency.

He added that the province has the capacity to receive 10 million people fleeing from Tehran and other areas. US President Donald Trump warned Iranians to “immediately evacuate” Tehran in a social media post yesterday.

Four, now nine, mid air refueling aircraft heading towards the Middle East. Unlike yesterday, these are dragging fighter jets with them.

Given the location of GOLD 24, most people speculate that F-35As from the Vermont National Guard are on the way to the Middle East.

The five additional tankers that make this nine. In guessing F-22 deployments as well.

I might be wrong but I don't think anybody has posted in here about this Trump quote about "making sure that happens".

NYT

During remarks to reporters about an hour earlier, Trump said that he believed that “Iran basically is at the negotiating table” and wanted to make a deal. Asked if he wanted to see regime change in Iran, Trump replied, “I want to see no nuclear weapon in Iran, and we’re well on our way to making sure that happens.”

Fuck.
