Not looking forward to Boeing paying racist bot farms to go around claiming Indians are too subhuman to properly maintain their totaly not faulty engines.

Boeing paying racist bot farms to go around claiming Indians are too subhuman to properly maintain their totaly not faulty engines.

From Wikipedia, Air India's last flight loss was 40 years ago, in 1985 (to a terrorist attack). On the other hand, Air India was sold by the Indian government to a private company in 2022, so yeah.

Hmmm. Is the national bourgeoisie to blame or is the international bourgeoisie to blame?

We are flush with options here.

The answer is probably both

You really don’t need to PAY anyone let alone bots to promote Indian hate

And Twitter is absolutely inundated with bot accounts, all “verified,” all spewing right-wing bullshit.

So Boeing DEFINITELY murdered those whistleblowers, huh?

[–] Sickos@hexbear.net 23 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Oh fuck.

Summary:

  • Crashed 5 minutes after takeoff
  • Nose was up but plane wasn't climbing
  • Pilots called a mayday but ATC received no response
  • Ahmedabad, India to London, UK is about half of a 787's range

It looks like the emergency wind turbine was deployed, which only comes out if there is a total electrical failure. Mind you, one of the Boeing whistleblowers main claims is shoddy electrical work.

Could have been a part that was unmaintained or something. I wouldn't cry wolf before the dust has settled.

NYT headline:

Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner Raised Safety Concerns but Had Never Crashed Before

There are more than 1,100 of the jets in service today. Air India flies nearly three dozen of them.

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/12/business/india-plane-crash-boeing-787-dreamliner-safety.html

Of course I will say that everyone knows Boeing's quality has gone down since the merge with McDonnell Douglas in 1997. But that was 28 years ago...

It does certainly seem like the rate of plane crashes and shoot-downs has been increasing a lot recently.

Another reason to build more trains (which can of course have catastrophic crashes as well, and they also travel a lot slower, and there's currently a lot fewer of them).

If it’s Boeing I ain’t going

[–] SchillMenaker@hexbear.net 14 points 3 months ago

The engine is pretty much the only thing on a Boeing that isn't engineered by Boeing.

Man I have to take a flight next week and seeing this is not helping my anxiety...
