Trump: I hate brown people and want them out of this country.

Hispanics: You've got my vote!!!

Trump: deports their family and friends

Hispanics: He meant THOSE brown people?

[–] boaratio@lemmy.world 128 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Wow. Bet this'll make him change what he's up to.

[–] Tall_Chilchuck@lemmy.world 95 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Bet this'll make people reflect on their voting habits too. Right?

Right!?

The GOP could reincarnate Hitler, run him in 2028 under the slogan "I'm going to start WW3 and murder billions of people"... and at least 30% of Americans would vote for him.

[–] danekrae@lemmy.world 29 points 1 day ago

"It's still better than a democrat!"

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

"Murder billions of those people". Then a large part of his support will be people who don't realize that they were part of the "others" all along.

You're giving the mentally ill cultists too much credit. He can say anything, and they'll simply fill in the gaps with whatever their heart desires.

Probably worried about his prospects for a third term.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

If he gets a third term, it won't be due to any election, so why should this matter?

[–] negativenull@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Zombie Jill Stein will come to his rescue

[–] Weirdmusic@lemmy.world 83 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What do unpopular fascist leaders do (think: Putin)? Start a war.

Be afraid, very afraid.

My prediction is a war with Iran starting in about a year, to boost GoP poll numbers before the midterms.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 33 points 1 day ago

Man, if only someone had predicted this...

[–] Yerbouti@sh.itjust.works 35 points 1 day ago (2 children)

So what lol? Look behind you americans, I think I see a trans-athlete trying to turn your dog into a dei-dragqueen, scary.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

"They're tranzzzing the dogs. They're tranzzzing the cats."

Seriously, that dumb bitch Megyn Kelly when she was on Maher, before the election, said trans was her #1 issue.

#1 issue. I mean, what percentage of people are we talking about? And that's her #1 concern? You have to be a special kind of stupid....

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Also, if Faux has not already started to do so, I expect them to be showing b-roll of "caravans" that are "heading for the border", just chock full of black/brown hordes - mostly all young men - coming over the border and heading right for PEORIA, PEOPLE!

[–] orclev@lemmy.world 46 points 1 day ago (4 children)

It's been what, less than half a year and the shine has already worn off him? If anything good could possibly come from this complete trash fire of an executive maybe it will finally convince some voters that the Republicans aren't actually working for them.

[–] voracitude@lemmy.world 57 points 1 day ago (1 children)

maybe it will finally convince some voters

Lol. Lmao, even. That was a smile I needed this dark and dreary day, wry though it may have been.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Yep. Too many toxic males and females that have adopted the same mean girl shit are way too tied up in the identity of being complete assholes. Doesn't matter the peak the cognitive dissonance in their heads reaches between realizing that trying to "own the libs" is going to harm themselves, what are they going to do, puss out and vote for Democrats? Perish the thought.

[–] cabron_offsets@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You underestimate their stupidity.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

And just plain nastiness. People actually vote with the goal of harming other people. Imagine that mindset.

[–] Seleni@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

The shine hasn’t worn off a bit. He’s polling pretty much exactly where he’s been throughout this presidential run; in the 44-46% support.

Almost half the country still supports him, and loves him, tariffs, destroying the constitution, and all.

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 35 points 1 day ago

Wake me up when he's actually underwater.

Polling only matters if elections are free and fair.

[–] ColeSloth@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 1 day ago

A lot of those damned idiots voted for him, too. It was ridiculous.

[–] JigglySackles@lemmy.world 28 points 1 day ago

Ok. Wake me up when it leads to meaningful change.

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 25 points 1 day ago

And that's why he's not planning to have another fair vote.

[–] lennybird@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago

11% of Trump supporters who voted for him in the last election disapprove of him, according to this PEW poll. Honestly more than I thought but who knows how easily Republicans could get them back given their megaphone of misinformation diales up during election time.

[–] LumpyPancakes@lemm.ee 14 points 1 day ago

That would only matter if you had a democracy. You voted to end democracy, remember?

[–] SGGeorwell@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

They told me when I was a kid: If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)
[–] resipsaloquitur@lemm.ee 5 points 1 day ago

I prefer calling him "34" but in this case I'm willing to call him "45."

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Expect even more crazy performative nonsense from him. Like wandering around the lawn talking about flags, FFS.
