how the fuck does a guy gain control of the regulatory agencies overseeing the industries he works in, and then proceed to fucking lose money? this is up there with 'bankrupting a casino' levels of stupid

It's depressing how much headlines can deceive. This is /r/politics all over again, with the most "technically true" statements that get people excited but the results you expect from reading the headlines will never come
Tesla stocks skyrocketed when Musk looked like he was unoficially elected as the new president. Now that he's got all the files he needs via Doge and he's backing out, they went back to normal growth.
Tesla's stock price going up or down is a completely different matter than company earnings. The report is on their actual company profits, which are down 71% -- meaning they aren't selling as many cars. That's a big deal. Let's keep making sure that owning a Tesla becomes completely socially unacceptable.
Tesla reported lower than expected earnings on Tuesday, with first-quarter profits dropping 71% on much lower sales of electric vehicles.
The issue is less that they've returned to normal growth and more that they have lost countless future sales. This is only the beginning of Tesla's woes.
Sure... Maybe... People have short memories. Over a million people died and tons of people voted to reelect Trump.
I laugh at sad Nazis.
Gee, I wonder if he will get so depressed he tops himself?
Human society just has to round this one up by ishowspeed randomly slamming open some entrance near Musk, taking aim and lining up a smack - which is accelerated by speed leaning into it with a double flip - that explodes on to Elons face, effectively implanting Elons skull into the center of a small crater.
The monument of his remains will be maintained to inform future generations of what had transpired that day.
End of Tesla. Let's do it.
Unbelievable that TESLA's shares skyrocketed after this catastrophic earnings.
What's also unreal is the stocks going up whenever Musk makes a promise. He just now said he foresees total self driving by year end. Even a casual observer like me has seen him fail to deliver, again and again and again.
Guess investors know this and also know the stock will bump whenever he lies. No one thinks they'll be the one left holding the bag.
it is called market manipulation; any other company stock would have plummeted after such report; it is a meme stock
Let's bring the bourgeoisie down before it's too late. Every. Single. One. Of. Them. Accountability for the traitors to humanity.
Mush is an easy target. We're have a harder time getting a handle on Bozos. We need some spine in the government that can tax some fuckers.
Bezos has a really tall hedge around his house. Tough to get in there.
🍽
To be fair, he did make a prediction before the election that the DOGE cuts will cause some financial pain.
Hopefully he shorted Tesla.
Wow, imagine how rich he could be if he did that!
Oh no, I feel really bad for him... Anyway....
Why feel bad for him? He did it to himself. I feel bad for the workers who are probably gonna be fired, but that's about it...
It's the text for a Meme where the person feign caring for him but moves on quickly.
HAHAHAHAHAH!
But consequences aren’t supposed to affect him. That’s why his identity is wealth.
Too. Fucking. Bad.
Good.
Lol
That's what you get for earning value with memes instead of with true quality. It won't last.

Are you sure this one fits in? Why, of all the communities, choose this one specifically?
Because Elon being made miserable is something that most other people would consider to be uplifting - I know it certainly made me happier to read it
My opinion here, but I think schadenfreude is actually a rather negative and toxic emotion that should at most just be tolerated, if not discouraged. It's a kind of vice, it might feel good in the moment and in small doses but it's ultimately harmful over time and shouldn't be made habit. Like, there's no net positivity added to the world through schadenfreude, it's a crabs-in-a-pot type mechanism. I guess I just don't think we should be conditioning ourselves to feel glee at anyone's downfall, even our enemies.
