My parents are crazy too but they’re drug free, which has always confused me. The problem is their personality, not an addiction. But I have thought about how they’d react - my mom would play the victim and my dad would play pickleball/tennis. That’s just what they’ve always done. I look forward to the day they die. When all of my grandparents died my parents became slightly more tolerable. I imagine my baseline will also rise….

I imagine the same argument is made with the glass blowing community. It’s incredible what those create.

Reminds me of someone I knew who had a swear word in their last name. They changed it because every time someone saw the spelling they’d get laughed at.

Do you like your last name? If so Americanize it. If you don’t take Winter, although it’s at the end of the alphabet and you might have to wait longer for some things.

“Just do something, take action”. On what exactly? “Just something”. That’s not actionable advice, and it’s always driven me crazy that people think they’re being helpful.

This would impact the companies pnl though, so shareholders and c suite will get less money. That’s why they’re scaring people into not wanting to increase wage.

Prices are funny. My last job we were changing clients extra for doing a thing that didn’t cost us anything and was fast to do. How much we charged was completely arbitrary and depended on the partners mood. It’s all made up folks.
