Okay, Hunter Biden, I could understand. This one makes no sense unless you’re an asshole.

Full-on mask off, now. Owner class protecting owner class, nothing to see here. These aren't the droids you're looking for. Move along.

Give him a break, all he did was torture children for money

Biden pardons 1500 people who met a certain criteria. The media goes and digs through every case to find 2 controversial ones. Right-wing media would NEVER do this for a right wing politican.

I hope CNN keep that same energy for Trump. Given the interviews I've already seen between trump and left wing media I doubt the left will hold him even 1/10th as accountable.

Indefensible.

Can we maybe pardon marajuana possession charges or something good for people? No? Just the rich assholes who did ‘white collar crime’? Okay. What a place. Love it here!

Biden already pardoned people convicted for simple possession of marijuana back in Oct 2022.

And in December 2023, expanded that for the offenses of simple possession of marijuana, attempted simple possession of marijuana, or use of marijuana, regardless of whether they had been charged with or prosecuted for the offenses on or before that date.

He already did pardon all the federal marijuana possession charges months ago.

They aren't looking for answers, just outrage.

Well that’s pretty good!

Safest place for that guy was being locked up. given what happened recently, does brandon want to see real justice sooner?

So this looks like a case of local officials letting these people out of jail and to house arrest when clearly they shouldn't be. It's the same as some welfare recipients abuse the system, but should we end welfare for all. No. These two slipped through. But plenty more who deserved the pardon got it.

[-] Serinus@lemmy.world 13 points 4 days ago

I get that there were 1500 of them, but pardons/commutations should get a closer look than this.

[-] bane_killgrind@slrpnk.net 11 points 4 days ago

So, they were non-violent offenders on house arrest, presumably all of these people were following the terms of their conviction.

That said, whoever compiled the list should have raised a flag on the ones that had many many victims.

I thing that's the issue, there is no way that the kids-for-cash judge did not cause harm to thousands of children. While he may not have used violence, he certainly caused it and harmed literal children.

We as a society need to really think more critically about what counts as violent crime. Ordering some to juvi/prison for money is violent in my books.

Bad move. He was under house arrest until 2026, probably just another year and a half.

Biden always finds a way to trip on hs dick.
