Ah, yes, Among Us, truly the most killer-y game of all killer games. Only a truly nefarious person would play that. In case they got the wrong guy, we should search the small group of other people who willingly played this dreadful game.

Do I even need a /s?

[–] Frozengyro@lemmy.world 33 points 11 months ago (2 children)

And it's only been played by several hundred million of people!

[–] Famko@lemmy.world 14 points 11 months ago

All those children who played it are devilspawn and will become mass murderers in the future! /s

[–] piccolo@sh.itjust.works 3 points 11 months ago

AOC played amoung us once. I always knew shes sus!

[–] Sewer_King@lemmy.world 61 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Now that's what I call responsible journalism! /s

[–] pivot_root@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago

The first of many, I bet.

[–] RootBeerGuy@discuss.tchncs.de 57 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Ah right. It was the video games all along. Guess we all missed the video where he flossed after kill.

[–] gibmiser@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago

Well now I wanna really see him tbag the CEO corpse. Maximum disrespect pro gamer move.

[–] FundMECFSResearch@lemmy.blahaj.zone 53 points 11 months ago

Corperate media and boomer produces such absurd content.

[–] OwlPaste@lemmy.world 46 points 11 months ago

My god, I spent my teenage years playing counter strike, I must be a serial killer who murdered several thousands after a few decades... What a fucking waste of space article.

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 39 points 11 months ago

Oh no, he played one of the most popular games of the last decade? I’ll bet he played Balatro recently, too!

That’s it, guys, he’s clearly a degenerate psychopath.

[–] Maalus@lemmy.world 39 points 11 months ago

I love how so many people here don't see the dude made a shitpost trolling the news. He literally went "killer amogus lmao" and the news grabbed it like he was serious.

Oh, ffs, Among Us and that racing game with the tumbling surfaces (wtf was that called again?) were the hot games that year, it seemed like everyone took at least one turn through them. Zoom happy hours, sourdough bread, The Wellerman - it was an insanely odd year for fads.

It’s called a platformer, not a racing game 💀

[–] rickyrigatoni@lemm.ee 6 points 11 months ago

Foot races are still races.

[–] rockSlayer@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago (2 children)

The Wellerman deserved the hype, and I learned about a song from them that I like even more because of how popular it got

[–] Famko@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

During the end of the Wellerman hype it was pretty grating for people to ONLY know that one song or put it in their videos.

Though it introduced me to a bunch of cool creators I wouldn't have known otherwise.

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

What was the other song you liked more?

[–] rockSlayer@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)
[–] aramis87@fedia.io 0 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Oh, I like The Longest Johns!

[–] captain_aggravated@sh.itjust.works 2 points 11 months ago

The Wellerman craze introduced me to them, and now I've got a bunch of their albums.

[–] fsxylo@sh.itjust.works 22 points 11 months ago

This is an actual boomer moment. Man they think they're making video games sound sooo scary but literally everyone not a boomer knows what among us is except these fools. I wouldn't be surprised if some amazonian tribes know what among us is.

First pass I read as Mangione played the CEO in among us and they were in a discord group together, and admitted that that was a very eerie circumstance. But nope, Mangione is just a normal 20 something.

shooter was trained videogame killer

Oh my god, is it time for the boomer "Call of Duty makes kids violent" discourse again?

Among Us

nvm, this is peak comedy actually

[–] Rooty@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

The UnitedHealth CEO was sus in electrical, my boy had to vent.

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 14 points 11 months ago

He shouldn't have vented into a populated McDonald's. 🤦‍♂️

[–] Nikelui@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago

No, no. Dark green was with me in med bay, I swear.

[–] samus12345@lemm.ee 9 points 11 months ago

He played a video game in which you kill people! Which is, like, most video games.

[–] Th4tGuyII@fedia.io 8 points 11 months ago

Fuck, we should've been looking for a guy in a spacesuit! /s

[–] Olgratin_Magmatoe@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago

Sounds like red did it, not Luigi

[–] Bosht@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago

Fucking hell they have to know at this point this falls flat on its face to ANY other crowd than boomers right? Peak reporting in America here, desperate attempt to ruffle the feathers of the pearl clutchers.

[–] DavidGarcia@feddit.nl 6 points 11 months ago (1 children)

omg there are millions of brainwashed assassins out there

[–] CaptKoala@lemmy.ml 1 points 11 months ago

Might get some John Wick spin-offs?

[–] 1985MustangCobra@lemmy.ca 3 points 11 months ago
[–] Feathercrown@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Amognus 😀

[–] CaptKoala@lemmy.ml 2 points 11 months ago

Article is sus.

[–] Wwwbdd@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

It's obvious clickbait, but no one is saying the game caused anything.

Just his buddy in a discord where they played among us saying "isn't that interesting, there really was a secret killer in this group that played a game about a secret killer"
