i wonder if some genius consultant was like, "get in front of a story that could hurt you and instead spin it and own it as a strength" not realizing that they were talking about shit like "i hired an undocumented nanny" or "i skated on a DUI charge in college due to family connections", not "i killed my daughter's puppy in a fit of rage."
