Once when I was in my early twenties, I went to a doctor, and since I had heard about people suggesting this "prostate exam" thing, I thought it would be a good idea to ask for one.

Well the doctor apparently thought I was too young to ask for a prostate exam, and so decided to go in hard and fast and without lube, presumably to "teach me a lesson."

Well, lesson learned. I might never get a prostate exam again, and if I die in a few decades of undetected prostate cancer, it will be that doctor's fault. But that likely won't be recorded on any of the paperwork. Because why would it.

Not sure what the moral of the story is, but uh, maybe don't suggest young men get theirs checked, because if their experience is anything like mine then they might never get it checked again.

I think the moral here is get a better doctor...? My family has a nasty history of prostate cancer its killed 3 in 4 of the males on both sides of my family by the age of 65. And every doctor iv ever talked to has basically screamed that if you have that much of a family history get your prostate checked as song as 20.

I understand it may have been many years ago now, but that's basically a cut and dry guaranteed malpractice suit. Especially if you were injured from it. That doctor could and possibly would have been completely banned from practicing medicine on anyone for pulling something like that.

Not to minimize your experience, but, just saying. That's NOT the norm. You were abused by your doctor and there would have been legal consequences for it if you followed up.

It wasn't my regular doctor. I don't even remember where it was, or the doctor's name. And it would honestly just make things worse for me if I were to try to do anything about it now. It's not gonna fix my asshole, but telling everyone I know that my asshole is wrecked isn't going to earn me any sympathy where I live.

At the time, I had no frame of reference. I probably just thought "Fuck man, prostate exams hurt!" Even if I tried reporting it, who would believe me? Over a doctor's word? Please. And that's without counting the stigma and embarrassment I would have felt at the time.

You know your ass can fit like two racoons into it? Unless that doctor went fisting, calling your asshole wrecked is a bit much. lol

Maybe if the raccoons are coated in lube and eased in slowly. What a fucked up comparison to make. But I guess you know my asshole better than I do 🙄
