Like 70% of the points on that site are... Disingenuous at best. It's not wrong over all at all. But I do wish people would stop throwing in a bunch of bullshit along with the good points.

I hate ai on many moral standards and see it as highly problematic, but also see it as a fun toy.

It makes it hard to have any honest conversations about the problems around ai when everyone is basically a religious zealot spouting as much bullshit as the ai tech bros are.

Is ai a problem? Yes. There's no honest way to disagree with that. But the real conversation is far more nuanced than that.

Yeah the long term upkeep tends to be the biggest problem.

But then again, normal projects have that too. Seen plenty of small projects get worked on like crazy for a few months and the author burns themselves out.

Ai like with most things just speed up the process. Lol

This is the only correct choice

Considering this is a very small lay off, was handled extremely well and provided proper offers for staff to choose to leave instead of just surprising people. I wouldn't call this a cash grab by literally any real means. Companies do lay offs, its normal. The only stated claim here is that AI is fucking the market and they are downsizing.

Which it is. Thats litterally just facts.

Theres nothing to indicate here least i can see, that says they are force rolling out AI to cash in on a quick buck.

His point is this is the frediverse and blind hatred of ai with zero nuance and no room for context or discussion is easy updoots. So gotta farm em while they are fresh.

To be fair this does suck, but from what im seeing here theres nothing to indicate that it isn't anything more then a bog standard lay off. Ai is teh reason this time but its no different then any other lay off. They suck, but its not like they are axing 50% of their work force on purpose to replace them with ai.

They also seem to be giving out proper compenstation and even offered people the choice first before doing forced lay offs. Which is about as professional as you can expect from a company doing any form of lay offs.

Im sorry for the suffering, pain and massive waste of your free time and sanity you are about to experience. May you come out the other side a stronger person.

I would absolutely fucking be down for tea time with flutterbutt. BUT ONLY IF I GET TO PET ANGEL RABBIT. I love me sum buns.

Can i offer you over a year of governmental gridlock, no progress, arguments, yellow journlism and the people crying that despite the massive improvement it wasn't enough to do anything meaningful despite the best efforts of a handful people who really do actually care?

Cause its really all i got.

Don't worry the year after will also be brutal. Governmental gridlock is going to be legendary. A improvement to be sure, but OH BOY. This is going to be a shit show.

I am very tired this is a stupid joke. No i wont say sorry. But i do need more nyquil.

Honestly the jump to psyop just comes across someone too out of touch with reality to understand the fuck people are.

Like mother fucker, what do you think is more likely. Lazy, depressed, and self-defeating people being tired and dooming? Or a coordinated psyop across the entire internet that lines up perfectly with the exact same shit people have been saying, doing and dooming about since the 1900s.

Like get out of your house and talk to some normal people, you will realize this isn't a psyop. People are ACTUALLY just that tired or stupid.

That said there is obviously bots going around trying to influence things. But they are more just pushing people in directions they already lay.
