It's not a terrible idea, the oils can go rancid.
This! Nuts belong in the fridge.
Better pack OP into the fridge too, then.
Instructions unclear, nuts stuck to ice cream, send help.
Your freezer is way too cold if stuff can get stuck to ice cream.
My fiery dragon breath might help with that. Hold still! 🔥🐲
No! Bad dragon! You'll burn their nuts! And the salad!
Also, clever reference there. Take my updoot 👍
You have to eat nuts pretty slowly for this to be a problem in my experience. I have had nuts go rancid but they were really old. It's like sauces - they say "keep refrigerated" on the bottle but if you use them consistently it's better not to crowd the fridge/keep space for higher priority things.
Who leaves nuts around long enough for them to go rancid?
Trees
Last time I invite the Trees over.
If you find a deal for some that can easily happen. I fucking love nuts but it's easy to get tired of them after eating one kind every day for a while, it's a good idea to put them in the freezer until you get a craving again.
You know you can get your hands on mixed nuts, right?
I just bought like 5 pounds of nuts from bulk barn. They'll be gone in a couple of weeks lol
Huh, I thought oils went rancid because of oxygen? I didn't think cold slowed that process for oils very much.
Cold slows many chemical reactions, including this one. Nuts will last even longer in the freezer.
Removing them from an oxygen environment will also slow the reaction.
This is why I use the vacuum on my nuts.
Not all nuts, just oily ones like walnuts.
Also moths
Not in walnuts, no.
Yes in walnuts, yes. I just tossed a bag not long ago for that reason.
Like, in tropical climate? My mom (farmer) dries them, fresh from the tree, in the heating room for a month or two, before they can even be demoulded. Can then be kept at least a year.
But it takes like a year or so.
Look at this guy, eating a whole bag of walnuts in only a year.
Is this like the reddit thread where you can eat a door in a year?
What is the nutritional value of a door? Would this diet need to be substituted with anything else?
