Did my injection tonight, but talking with someone else about it apparently hers don't leak? I basically always get some clear liquid coming back out of the injection spot. I pinch my belly, stick a 5/8 (I think??) 25g straight down. Pause for a beat, inject, wait another beat, then pull out. I try to leave it in for a bit in hopes it wouldn't leak but it still is. Is this normal/okay? Bit worried I've been fucking up and losing some every injection for 9 months now. Still getting tits n stuff but I want to make sure I'm doing it properly
I just do it on my legs and usually there are no leaks, maybe a little drop of blood. But when it leaks it's just a little bit. It's not something you should worry about unless you get a lot of leaking
Yeah, I do IM on my thighs with a 27g 1.5" needle and only get a little blood sometimes.
I usually get a little bit of leakage, I know someone else who does but it doesn't seem to affect her levels as far as she can tell. I've been told that holding the needle in 10 second might help prevent it, I'll try that next time and report back.
You're probably not losing much but if you want to reduce the loss you could try using insulin syringes instead (a smaller gauge means a smaller hole for the fluid to leak through).
The 10 second thing Switchy mentioned also helps.
Hmm, might do that if holding for longer doesn't help. Because the pain is fine I never really cared about switching to something smaller but if it would mean less waste I might have to. Thank you.
