I wasn't planning to ever watch the show but I'm still mad at you for spoiling it

I would assert that it is, personally, but I would also assert that the entire show revolves around Jax and her issues, and would barely have a plot at all if you stripped her out of it.
Which doesn't seem to be the majority opinion, something I've found kind of incomprensible.

It's not realy a spoiler because it's barely even hinted at in the text and not even crucially relevant to the plot.
