there's a bunch of nerds who larp ATC and pilot stuff on ms flight sim or whatever the main competitor is.
real pilots and atc are in there sometimes to keep in practice. this is slightly less horrible than it sounds, like replacing racecar drivers with those guys who have simrigs that cost more than a normal car.
I think basically every ATC Sim guy I know has actually applied to be a flight controller so my question is more what hidden applicants they're even looking for there
I was that way with emergency management games, but it turns out fire departments are mostly being repeatedly traumatised while sleep-deprived. It was such a bad transition from something that's fun because I can restart without consequence to something where it's fun in the way that using cocaine would probably be fun to me for the first month. There's even a culture of rejecting your wins and feeling any kind of positive brain chemicals from it because that makes you respond just as negatively to losses.
