hasan was talking about reddit, and how basically the easiest social media site to be manipulated, half joking it is basically moderated by langley (a cia airforce base i think)
You know about Jessica Ashooh, right?
tbh i saw her face, i think she is a mod on reddit and some former federal agent - read it in some infographic on instagram, or maybe hexbear
Hawkish Atlantic Council woman with no tech background suddenly became Director of Policy at Reddit. Shortly after the banwave that got /chapotraphouse began.
e: I may be misremembering the timeline, and that it was only a few years after that the subreddit got banned. Either way, she's blatantly there to ensure broad narrative control in favor of the US.
The most posters at one point were revealed to be out of a NOVA air force base, not the CIA. The head of the internal content moderation team was at one point revealed to be ex-CIA.
Also the easiest social media to manipulate is 4chan.
Langley is just the city in Virginia that the CIA HQ is located. It's like when people call the US government "Washington"
Eglin afb. see you at the watercooler
It is probably the most manipulatable website because of the voting system. It's so easy to form social feedback loops on.
Most manipulable social media site because it's the only one that is really a public forum so manipulating the front page/major subs games the whole site while other social media requires influence to reach inside an enormous number of highly varied real world social groups.
