I'm watching all these speeches from the Kirk thing, and it's all just flashbacks to 2003. They're going after the evildoers, they're defending Western civilization, if you're not with us you're against us.

This has been building for a while but it seems so surreal to watch the cannons of American empire turn to point back at us. While I feel a strong sense of impending danger that I'm sure you all feel as well, I couldn't help but feel a grim smile sneak up on me. We are watching the predictions of Marxist analysis come into being before our very eyes, undeniably and totalizing. They may win some battles in the coming years, maybe even longer than that, but I have never felt more certain of their inevitable defeat. The imperial apparatus that seemed invincible and eternal only ten years ago now moves as if it can feel its own mortality, desperately thrashing against the rising tides of a global working class becoming conscious of itself. The pain of what is to come will be hell on earth, and many of us may not live to see what comes next. But now, more than ever, we can see with certainty: the empire will fall. They are lashing out at us, and in so doing lashing out at the very foundations of the imperial core. They will establish their green zones, they will send a "surge" of troopers, they will establish an unvarnished dictatorship of capital. The seeds of this horror that have always existed in this country, that we have pointed out breathlessly to the eye-rolls of "polite" society, will bloom into their final Lovecraftian forms. There will be no controlled opposition, no "liberal establishment". There are only those who fight, and those who collaborate. The fight is global, and our numbers are insurmountable. Their technology still has not subdued two million Palestinians; it will never subdue all of us when the contours of the struggle become clear to all.

Like a flash of lightning before the storm, everyone watching today's political drama can now clearly see the shape of the clouds forming above us. Every bomb in Gaza, every black helicopter shining its lights on dissidents in American cities, only illuminates the great monster that centuries of liberal smoke and mirrors has kept hidden. Our time is coming. The monster will fall.
