??? Do they mean Patches?
Pretty sure they mean John Dark Souls, the protagonist of the Dark Souls franchise. (to be serious I think that's an screengrab taken from an archive site where the image in that post didn't survive archival)

Can't remember which FromSoft fantasy game it was, but there was one where you fight an NPC or invader and the item description for his pants mentions they're covered in shit.
