Every time I've seen a professional glue something, it's been box+X or box+stripes. Which was mostly before the invention of spray glue, because obviously that's the better answer.
I like my thing, and I want to show it off to people I like!
I also need to show it off to as many strangers as will sit still long enough to shove it in their faces.
And the second thing makes me feel bad about doing the first thing, which I should actually like.
But what if gender doesn't fit in a metric space?
I got the new booster yesterday so I feel like my bones have been half squeezed out like toothpaste tubes. I'm stiff and floppy at the same time and walk like Jack Sparrow.

From my experience trying to organize tech workers, the biggest factor is that tech workers feel like they're highly compensated compared to other workers, and they don't think they deserve more than them. They haven't internalized that it's actually us vs the shareholders. (And you see plenty of this from the outside too; people blaming tech workers for gentrification instead of blaming the landlords that actually raise rent.)
I'd also guess that a lot of it is because tech came into prominence after union participation had already fallen off.
Omg he's adorable I love him.
I hope many more follow their lead. Fandom is such a scummy company.
I've seen a bunch of Unity devs treat this an excuse to go back to not worrying about it, and I'm real worried for them. And also internally screaming at them.
Hey this is really cool.
I'm sure people will use it to make politicians say misleading things or whatever.
But I'm excited about people being able to have animated advisor portraits in indie games.
