I've been on farming simulator 22 for about a month. never thought it would be much more than just satisfyingly harvesting wheat for a few hours, but now I'm practically a tractor enthusiast

the character creation is kinda superfluous at this point, you can spend loads of time naming them, making a coat of arms etc. but in my experience it never comes up anywhere, nor does your leader character.
there's no real plot or politics to speak of, it's just a medieval city simulator. there are some policies you can enact but the only impact is just 'raise taxes = people sad' and the like. maybe in future more stuff will be added but at the moment it's not got anything i would consider problematic
there are already mods to change things like character avatars so you could potentially just make whatever character portrait you like and put that in the game
it's all streaming services now, like they all had a meeting and said "let's just collectively raise prices to optimum cockbag levels", aka oligopoly
I was thinking recently what it would be like if we replaced all aeroplanes with airships instead; like helium-filled zeppelins. If it meant saving the planet, surely everyone could tolerate a slower journey, after all, people used to spend days and weeks on ships travelling across the world.
The only real obstacle to this is the system's incessant need to extract as much of everyone's labour power as possible, not just over the course of a work day, but over their entire lives, meaning that any reduction in speed of travel, for instance, is intolerable, as it results in 'wasted time' that is not actively being spent on exploitation.

aside from his mandarin, basically every one of his videos where he 'speaks fluently' in one of a hundred other languages involves him basically stammering repeatedly while trying to get out a simple phrase, as though the elongated time it takes him to say
'I-I-I-I've b-b-b-been l-l-learn-ning f-f-f-f-for t-t-two w-w-eeks' counts as a lengthy, fluent phrase
It never stops bothering me when people say "comprised of", as opposed to just "comprises", or "composed of".
I try to remind myself that I'm witnessing the evolution of language in real-time, but it just annoys me that what causes language to evolve is just people misusing it.
