Is this properly accounting for the regional pricing differences of "good girls" and "bitches"? Lil Wayne has lived in a sprawling mansion in Miami, but also now lives in New Orleans. Are we just supposed to accept at face value that the costs are fixed across both localities?

Additionally, Kanye appears to be referencing wholesale costs of "bitches" as he's talking about getting them in quantities of 1000, while Lil Wayne is clearly buying in retail prices at only 12 "bitches" at a time.

There's too many inconsistencies to determine objective pricing from the data provided.

There may be an arbitrage opportunity here

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 24 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Possibly, but it may be high risk. I'm certainly no authority on the subject, however Jay-Z, with a net worth of $2.6 Billion ( source ) doesn't seem to think its worth the risk. .

He told us "I got ninety-nine problems, but a bitch ain't one".

Excellent questions. I look forward to reading your research paper on this subject.

A cross-sectional study would likely yield some short term answers, but the real work will require a longitudinal study to tease out trends in different regions and possibly even impacts from seasonality to take into account price fluctuations and determine volatility. This is well beyond my resources, but the grant application almost writes itself.

There may be parallels that could be learned from examining the price spike in the prison economy during April 2009.

You lost me at “According to Kanye”

[–] ramble81@lemm.ee 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

You lost yourself at the fact this was a joke just because you went “ooh, Kayne bad”. I don’t like him either but can still see by this to see the joke.

[–] neo@lemy.lol 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I still don't get it. He's not a fish, so how can he be a gay fish?

South Park has done irreparable damage to modern society

[–] sudo@lemmy.today 3 points 2 years ago

I'd suggest the 'giant douche/ turd sandwich' rhetoric had a direct impact on the 2004 and 2016 elections - both of which were 'lost' by the Democrats, by razor thin (even a razor that folds over one way but ends up cutting the other way somehow, because fuck the will of the people) margin, and had profound effects on the society of their time. It also staunchly reenforced the apathy and both-sideism we see to this day.

Is this before or after tax?

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 25 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

If the "good girl" is named "Charity", does that qualify her as a 501c(3) making her tax exempt?

[–] cyberic@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 2 years ago

But do you really want to "write her off" on your taxes?

Is there some tipping involved?

[–] cordlesslamp@lemmy.today 3 points 2 years ago

What about return policy?

[–] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

Shipping AND handling

[–] OpenStars@discuss.online 19 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Then what are the goodest girls worth?

Who's a good girl? You are! Who's a good girl? You are!

No way that's worth only $8.33. Though at a shelter you can rescue one for basically free (+ medical).

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

They be out there giving away the best bitches for free smh

[–] shutz@lemmy.ca 16 points 2 years ago (1 children)

So, 16 50-cents, with some change left?

[–] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

17, no? 16 would be $8

[–] nxdefiant@startrek.website 14 points 2 years ago (1 children)

If you account for inflation, that's now about $11.

[–] Mubelotix@jlai.lu 6 points 2 years ago (2 children)
[–] samus12345@lemmy.world 12 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The title says $16, which is incorrect.

OP jacking up the price of good girls and blaming it on inflation.

[–] nxdefiant@startrek.website 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)
[–] neo@lemy.lol 3 points 2 years ago

Nope, that's not the title ;-p

[–] ZeffSyde@lemmy.world 12 points 2 years ago

I knew taking four years of Applied Rap Math would pay off.

[–] MissJinx@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago

Worth and cost are different. They may be worth 8 but how much it costs to get one?

[–] SPRUNT@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

That means that you can get a good girl with a side of freedom for under $10, and still have enough for a can of soda, a dime candy, and a couple pieces of gum.

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Just try not to fall victim to shrinkflation when youre shopping for one

[–] don@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

I don't know how you guys walk around with those things.

[–] ID411@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

This builds on the earlier JayZian work which showed that a bitch ain’t = 1

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 3 points 2 years ago

Which in turn builds on research by Dre et al. concluding that bitches ain't nothing.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

These guys should be on the Supreme Court.

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 1 points 2 years ago

That’s a joke, right?

[–] frickineh@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Eh, not worth it, I'll keep being a bitch.

[–] Etterra@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I'm not gonna start trusting financial advice from anyone who investes money in gold jewelry for their teeth.

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 1 points 2 years ago

Probably a wise choice.

[–] PiratePanPan@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 years ago

I mean, if you get arrested and get your assets seized, you can just sell that stuff off. That's what pimps did back in the day.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

I'll take three, please!
