Fully remote workers are ineligible for promotion? That’s not necessarily a negative. If you want a real promotion, you have to leave your company. Otherwise, all you get is sawdust.

Leaving only recently became a viable solution. Before you were under non-compete agreement.

Those have always been mostly unenforceable.

Maybe in California where state law made them void, but everywhere else they were definitely enforceable. And even challenging it would cost a shitton of money.

So you’re saying it’s OK if I bring my dog? Or maybe do some car maintenance in the employee parking?

How about I drop by the office if I need a place to crash?

Reminder to join or create a union if you haven't already!~✊

  • also it's best if you can do it covertly from your employer due to the plethora of companies cracking down on unions when discovered

This just shows how many "people" persons are in tech management that don't really understand technology and don't feel comfortable using it to communicate. Bad news for they is that we, the people that get the job done, we are technology people, we are not afraid of chats and video calls and we know how progress can be measured remotely.

Keep that shit up and you will lose your best employees.

Guess it's time for those employees to look for another job.

This has started at my workplace as well. Big Tech has invested a lot in big office real estate, and I feel like there's some tax accounting write-off behind the push for this kind of stuff.
