Because nowhere did he say that he forced labour was good, he just said that the EU is not going to do anything useful with this ban (like for instance, making sure that H&M and Puma don't use forced labour in the making of their products, since those are European companies) but instead willn just cause Europe to double down on the idiotic "Xinjiang is litterally a concentrationcamp" like a lot of Euro-leaders have been claiming baselessly for years at this point.

It’s obviously true, if the ban were to be applied equally, which it will not be, because fucking everything relies on forced labor and you won’t “cut that out” of the supply chain without demolishing the world economic system.
