The scary thing is you can be killed by Israel and your government will do nothing about it. They literally have a licence to murder whoever they like.
It is not like this is the first civilian casualty there and it is not like Israel would change its course anyway. So why the surprise.
We are talking about an army that killed three of their own who were shirtless, without any arms, waving a white flag.

Semites are people purported to be descendants of the biblical Shem, son of Noah. To some degree, this applies to all peoples of Syro-Arabic lineage.
Of course, DNA tracing shows that all these people groups (including Hebrews) mixed so thoroughly with the people of Canaan that despite various attempts to define races over the centuries, the only distinctions of note are, for the most part, cultural.
So let’s stop using the term that has no historical or contemporary benefit. Some people are anti-Jewish, some are anti-middle-eastern, and some are anti-Israeli. But the only real difference between the Palestinians and the Jewish Israelis is a few generations of ancestry and their cultural religion.

I can't imagine the pain and bottomless hatred I'd have if my son was killed in a war, but the name thing keeps me from wanting him to travel anywhere that might be a war zone.

West Bank isn't even a war zone. This appears to have been just a regular incident of a settler deciding to murder a Palestinian and the IDF helping out.
Now I understand why home schooling is so popular in the USA.

Was it playing with fate when he didn't leave for the US when the war started? Obviously no civilians should have to fear for their lives, but it does seem like a bad call.
I don’t think he should have been killed, but if o was in a country that was part of a war zone and I could just go back home to another country, then it’s partially on me for staying.
Like if a US person was in Ukraine and died from a Russian bomb, well if the person didn’t have to be in a war zone then they shouldn’t have been there.
The West Bank isn't even supposed to be at war...
