What timeline did we entern? Did someone mess with reality itself?

I think they forgot the "we dare you" part of the speech

This is just a virtue signal. They know politicians won't do it, because they own the majority of them.

It's like the carbon tax that fossil fuel corps promoted while they knew they owned enough politicians for a carbon tax to never pass.

The "billionaire finds way to profit from taxes" one

Same timeline we've always been in.

The small handful of rich people who ask for economic justice and mostly live by it, mixed in with those who just want to virtue signal while doing the same shady shit of legal bribery to keep the status quo that make a public statement knowing full well that it will never get done because of the legal bribery from the regular rich people and virtue signalling rich people.

perhaps game theory at play… they may realise that their lives would be better than what they pay in tax if all of them paid more tax, but they aren’t going to be the only ones to do it so they want it to be law

or it could just be PR bullshit and they relentlessly lobby for the reverse and pay more than what they’d pay in tax behind the scenes

and then the same rich people pay lobbyists to pay politicians to not to do that.

Which is why they can shout this from the mountaintop and nothing will change.
