Forget about the jackets - tell me why the top right needed to be pixelated!

Also why's his thumb so small

[–] PixeIOrange@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)

And his other thumb so big

It might be unrelated, but I still can't process that black sheet (?) behind the backpack in the chair. If it was a straight square/oblong then the top of it wouldn't be a straight line. It might be just a real thing, but WTH is that?

That was my first guess, but:

  • on either side it comes from nothing
  • if it's straight upright then the right side looks rather slanted; if it's leaning forward then the left side looks rather upright
  • if it's an actual trapezoid shape then it's probably not a screen.

Its laying on its back with no stand kind of at an angle across the 90 transition of the chair.

Hey look it's the guy math books warned us about

Yeah, I usually get 2-4 copies of a clothing item I like. The downside is: even if you're wearing a fresh t-shirt, people think you're wearing dirty clothes.

[–] HeyJoe@lemmy.world 8 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Why? Because you always wear the same one? As someone who basically has been wearing the same 5 clothes for summer and winter for 20 years I really don't want to know what people think if thats the case.

[–] Sergio@piefed.social 11 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Yeah, I feel kinda self-conscious like someone might notice. Tho tbh I don't think anybody cares or pays attention. Like, one time I banged my eye up in the gym and it was all bruised and looked like hell and nobody said anything. (Except for this dude working at the convenience store - thanks fam!)

[–] Postmortal_Pop@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago

Honestly, no one cares. I like to keep a weeks supply of identical shirts and pants and the only person that's ever noticed asked if I only own gray clothes and not if I'm wearing the same thing.

[–] flilare@piefed.zip 3 points 5 days ago

If I can't smell it, I'm going to assume you washed it.

A trick for this is to occasionally wear two of the same shirt, one over the other, and then at some point get "too hot" and remove one of them to reveal the identical shirt underneath.

Then really lean into it by getting a coat that has a print of what you look like with that shirt on the outside. Dedicate one of the large pockets of a backpack to "emergency" shirts (and use them, eg if you get too sweaty or spill some blood on it). Invite people over and "forget" to put the pile of folded copies of that shirt away. Then each visit, add another pile, until people start questioning whether they are for you or to sell. Vaccuum seal some of those piles and ask friends if you can leave one package at their place in case your place burns down or gets burgled. Start making cheesy jokes about "in my vestments/investmenst".

At this point, you should be able to get away with occasionally wearing the same shirt twice without anyone even guessing that you're wearing a dirty shirt. Because you're the crazy shirt guy that everyone knows has more copies of that shirt than most people have clothes in general.

Oh also, if you ever accidentally rip your shirt, say "aw man, that was my favourite shirt!"

(slow clap) that whole comment is freakin brilliant. For my favorite t-shirt, I have two copies that are slightly larger than my other two copies. So I can very easily do this.

[–] metallic_z3r0@infosec.pub 4 points 4 days ago

We do laundry every two weeks, so I have 16 copies of a shirt I like (2 extra, just in case), 6 sets of the same pants, 16 of the same underwear, same for pairs of socks. Yes, I'm at least a little autistic, how'd you guess?

[–] 69420@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

The upside is: even if you're wearing a dirty t-shirt, people know you have multiples, so there's plausible deniability.

It’s like those cartoon characters that only have 1 outfit

[–] Sergio@piefed.social 3 points 3 days ago
[–] ButteryMonkey@piefed.social 6 points 4 days ago

If I could afford it I’d do that with pants I like. So hard to find good pants!!

[–] majster@lemmy.zip 4 points 4 days ago

Maybe he is a street seller?

[–] psx_crab@lemmy.zip 4 points 4 days ago

Why does he remind me of Leon S Kennedy

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

Ah. He must be a cartoon protagonist.

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Let me guess, he let slip that he wanted a certain jacket and twenty people bought it for him.

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 11 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I was going to guess that a girl complimented it once.

[–] Soggy@lemmy.world 14 points 5 days ago (1 children)

He made a few hundred million dollars and wanted to make sure he could always have his favorite jacket. (This is Eric Barone, creator of Stardew Valley)

Oh, awesome! I guess I'd never seen a photo of him before.

Smart man! There's a lot of clothing I wish I'd done that with, but I can usually only afford two or three at most
