The price to ship your letters and packages is going up in the new year.

Starting Jan. 21, 2024, the price for a First-Class Forever U.S. Postage Stamp will increase from 66 cents to 68 cents, according to the U.S. Postal Service.

The prices for domestic postcard stamps will also increase by two cents from 51 cents to 53 cents and international postcards will increase from $1.50 to $1.55.

In addition to stamp prices increasing, the price to send priority mail and other postal services will also increase on Jan. 21.

...

The Postal Service says its prices “remain among the most affordable in the world” and would “offer a great value in shipping.”

Still amazes me that for well under $1 I can send a letter from Maine to Hawaii and it'll get there within a few days.

Yeah it really is one of the greatest public utilities we have. And all this with them being massively burdened by legislation clearly designed to hinder them on top of them having to deliver to every address in the country

Republicans hate the postal service and want to destroy it. Keep in mind the guy in charge who should of been replaced when Biden took charge. Because his goal was to make the post office not work.

As a postal worker, I have seen this first hand. It's disgusting.

FYI, they absolutely do NOT deliver to every address in the country.

That's a really good point. I can only imagine what it would cost if it was a private company. At least 1$ for continental and probably 2$ for "those other places".

The Democrats could've unfucked the USPS whenever they had power, but they didn't, because they love the neoliberal death spiral it's been sent on. Just like how they could have undone any of the tax cuts, raised capital gains, or the made college debt dischargeable through bankruptcy again.

Could they? Joe Houseboat and Kirsten Independent kinda fucked it all there for everyone.

Democrats have consistently dropped the ball. Almost like no one gives a fuck. The Republicans at least act when they get the three branches. Democrats fuck around and leave the door open for Republicans to do it again. Almost like no one gives a fuck.
