Nah don't block their air. Just pour a few truck loads of concrete and rebar over the entrance. Let them enjoy the apocalypse while the outside world has a chance to recover from their influence.

Not shit, surströmming is fermented herring that smells of sulphur.
A few cans popped open and poured down would probably be strong enough to get through filters.
Also mink piss is a long term stench. There was a mink farm on next to the acre I grew up on and even though it had not been in operation and the buildings were all gone, two decades later when it rained all you could smell was mink piss/gland secretions.

No. I'd rather get rid of them than make them suffer. Both would be great, but the former is the priority. The goal is to make sure they can't do more damage. Revenge doesn't accomplish anything on its own.

2.5 years worth of fuel? I'm no disaster prepper but uh I'd want to hear about solar and batteries, etc.
Imagine living for 2.5 years in that, somehow miraculously it not turning into a Fallout scene with a bunch of entitled rich pricks who suddenly can't order others around, and then being forced back into the "real world" where you have nothing. What was accomplished?
Are they going to have chefs? Do they have 2.5 years worth of food?
If they have a sniper post you assume they understand things could be quite hostile as society finally implodes, do they have an armory? Solar powered vehicles...?
These fuckers should all play fallout. Might realize what was lost.
And those of us who have played should do some thinking and understand the real lesson to take from the game is that cooperation is the sole way to avoid that grim outcome.
I always remember the Preppers show episode with the hippie commune. They were already involved with the local community and were talking about how they would just invite everyone to the party and keep scaling up. The show tried so hard to inject problems into the plan but they were the only ones who looked like they had a realistic idea. Everyone else was planning to solo the world or bug out to ???.
Real world there are plenty of examples of the local community pulling together before the government and cops show up to take charge and screw it all up.

What I believe is rather, the larger the group, the larger the chance to get a few psychopaths in there that screw things up for everyone. Psychopathy seems to have a prevailance of about 1% in the population.
Btw the division of labour economy we all live in is cooperative in nature. You might compete for roles in it, but the output of those roles is supposed to be cooperative. Anyone who's work is purely competitive is basically someone who works solely to take something away from someone else. So essentially something akin to a thief in function. I consider that part of the problem, not part of the normal economy.
I wonder how the fuel is stored. Under ideal conditions diesel can last 1.5-2 years. Otherwise, they only have 6-12 months.
You can be in my bunker, rather than rich folks I want practical knowledge to rebuild...not that diesel fuel will be a priority for potentially quite a while society rebuilds. Though if there is the intermediary Mad Max phase you will probably be leading an army...

I don’t even get the point of them for billionaires. Like what, you’ll emerge after some calamity and say “well actually I was very wealthy and important in the old world”? These things are going to serve as glorified loot chest for the desperate who survive any sort of scenario that justifies their use. Assuming people don’t just seal up all the intakes and entrances to spite them. No one survives the surface? There’s going to be nothing for these people to return to anyway.
That’s all just assuming the security detail/staff transporting them don’t just shoot them and take their spot after hearing “thanks for getting us here and keeping us safe but there’s only supplies and room for my family, so back to the apocalypse you go”. So fucking stupid.

Maybe they plan to emerge with gold? Honestly stumped about what I'd do in their shoes to try and reassert my place in society. Maybe just start employing people with gold reserves, use that as venture capital to start a new business empire.
So, never take jobs from a mysterious stranger who pays well. Anyone who works for bunker people should be made into outlaws.
Gold would have 0 value, so that's not an option either
I agree that it has little intrinsic value, but unless all of history and culture was erased I think it would still be regarded as a store of value.
I read an article from the Bosnia war, and someone who lived through it said the currencies were, in order of importance: lighters, batteries, ammunition, food.

I would think actual useful survival things are worth far more. What would you rather have after doomsday or whatever, a tonne of gold, or a lighter?
I mean, weird to keep arguing after I said I agreed for my own part. But I recognise others don't think as we do.
Why do you seem to believe that after thousands of years people would suddenly not regard gold as precious? That belief deserves to be interrogated.
I think it’s more that given most scenarios that require a doomsday bunker would result in the collapse of society, you’d probably not live long enough for gold to have close to its current value again. I’m reminded of a movie quote “these are desert people, they value water not gold”. After reading The Road again recently, I have a hard time picturing most people, a majority of which are emaciated and struggling each day to find food survive, caring about or walking around with heavy metal bars.
So while no one dispute gold being precious or having value, it’s more that the value system of society in such a scenario would be drastically different. Plus, you emerge from a bunker into the new, hardened world and try to buy people with gold, it’d probably go the route of the security detail I mentioned. Who’s going to serve as security for people that likely won’t have food left to offer, will have a target on their back for who they were and probably aren’t going to share their extravagant shelter with you?

You would enjoy several recent books by Adrian Tchaikovsky. Either the fourth book in the Children of Time Series ("Children of Strife") or, if you haven't read the first three (though you really should), the standalone novella "the hungry gods"

The only ones who have a chance are the ones on a large island. But, even then, they need people to do the farming and maintenance. Also, they need to keep those people happy, lest they, oh, I don't know, maybe hang them.
Billionaires are not as smart as they think they are. They aren't even as smart as we think they are.
Whoever is in those bunkers will get cabin fever and go crazy. Probably raping or killing each other.

The rate at which the climate gets worse will only get worse as well, even if we had a wand to get 0 emissions by tomorrow. It will only be worse if they ever leave. Being buried alive doesn't seem great.
