Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

It's messing the legs over each other's legs

[–] Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

what's messing the legs?... I'm not sure I understand.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 1 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Both people resting on one side each with all legs in the middle

[–] Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

could you specify which part of the post you are referring to? likeywhich of the positions maybe?

the option C is meant to resemble one holding the other from behind in case thats what you mean.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago

C is them on top of each orher rather than me at the right side of the couch, my wife on the left side, and the middle seat, where one might put a third person, we instead have our legs intermingled

[–] magic_smoke@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 14 hours ago

DBAD with a combo of all for 5.

[–] Gormadt@slrpnk.net 3 points 23 hours ago

Oh this is a tough one...

B-B (as in one for each)-C-A-A

Especially if it's one of those crisp fall/winter/early spring mornings

They just hit so different sinking into blankets with cocoa and a partner to share the morning mist with

[–] HuntressHimbo@lemmy.zip 8 points 1 day ago

D-B-B-A-B for me. Cozy all the way

[–] puppycat@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 1 day ago

[–] zitrone@europe.pub 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

you can make a few combinations that result in funny words/abbreviations/bogus out of these letters:

BOOBA
AACAB (the first A stands for "almost" ig)
ABOAD
COCOA
DO BAD
BAAAD
DAAAD
COC AB (german bottom surgery)

more unfunny ones at wiktionary regex search

anyway DOOOA for me i think
unless its cold, unlike currenly, then DBAOA
and i don't really know what all the drinks are exactly which is why i chose other

also every combination is good

[–] brachypelmide@lemmy.zip 1 points 11 hours ago

oh damn and i thought i would be the only one who went with DOOOA lol

[–] 2hundredpancakes@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Whoa_mama.gif

Blankets if it's cold enough, otherwise no. As for the rest, all of the above! Yes!

Great post ty

[–] Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

woah mama? >v< whaaaat

yesyes i think they are all really pretty nice. and yeaaa I should have maybe put "imagine its cold" to clarify. oh well... always happens after I make a thing: I immediately see stuff I wanna fix but... naw. its out there and I won't change it.

[–] 2hundredpancakes@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Sorry, it's a Johnny Bravo reference, I am ancient 😔

Hey, some people like having a blanket no matter what the weather is like, plus some are lighter than others. I totally get the feeling of wanting to revise something right after I do it... but you're right, it's fine and doesn't need to be changed! We are not perfect creatures, and gotta allow ourselves the space for imperfection for that too is beautiful

[–] Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

sigh in the first question in option C I wanted to lean Lilacs head to the side so they can see too (if playing or watching something) buuuut oh well >v<

yesyes I dont like changing stuff as long as it "has everything I wanted" in it... mostly.

I thought it conveyed the intended image. I mean that's how I took it. Plus, having been in that position, I find sometimes it's just nice to snuggle into the other person's hair or neck, and peek around them to see the TV if that's needed. 🤷‍♀️!

Anyway thanks for making all the content you do. I think it is a boon to the comm's coziness. I don't post here as much as I used to, I gotta change that sometime.

Sorry if it's too much yapping. AABOC

1. Position

C and D would be awkward because... genitalia. Especially if it decides to rise.
B is just weird. If I'd be the one on the couch, it feels like the 2nd party is being treated as a lesser being. If on the ground, it's just legs.
Therefore through the process of elimination I get A.

2. Blanket

Blanket's cool, but trying to just share one not so much. In theory it might sound good, but adjusting your share will affect the other party, possibly negatively.
One small detail as an example, I like the feel of fabric between my fingers. Therefore I need 4 well positioned creases for one hand. Even slightly pulling on the blanket will screw that up.
I am working under the assumption that "one for me" implies "one for each" (if desired, of course), as otherwise that makes no sense.

3. Blanket texture

A and C are too vibrant, B feels classic.

4. Drink

Water. Even if there was another drink, I'd still need water to flush my mouth. And water can be good (depends on composition and temperature).

5. Activity

I don't really game aside from occasional CODM/PUBG on my phone (by which I mean bursts with several months in-between). I don't care enough to set up extra software on my PC, it's not worth money, and I don't even trust the software in the first place. When it comes to consoles, go back to money point.
But if it's an easy already set-up option, sure.

VRChat as the game choice seems pretty good

[–] Bysmuth@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I want to answer "any" to almost all categories. 1: They all can be nice, depends on the other person 2: depends on the position 3: I'm indifferent, my brain ignores these patterns quite quickly 4: water. I'm too clumsy to be trusted with any other drink on a couch haha 5: same answer as in 1

Btw "this or that" posts are nice every now and then cause they get a lot of interactions. It gets a lot of the chronic lurkers to engage, like me ^_^

  1. Since side-by-side is naturally excluded, D all the way as the alternative. Comfyyyyyyy
  2. Hm..I would not mind A since it would also naturally extend to them, otherwise less proximity. Though if they wanted one, fair. But O is fine too.
  3. A out of those styles.
  4. O (water if anything)
  5. A with some C

Bringing memories to my mind here Frau Maria, haha. But that is okay! They were comfy memories nonetheless.

C, B, B, B, B

[–] kivihiili@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

hm, B-A-C-A-D, where we are lilac. position B because our back hurts atm sadly

the single blanket would be for the being(s) between our legs if they get cold, and flowers are ~ quite pretty ~!

and as for the activity? reading aloud! we've been told we have a soothing voice, so we'd read from a fun book, maybe something about fish. the tea plays into it really nice too!!

(voice training tip: herbal tea with honey is very soothing for the throat)

hope you stay comfy ^o^
