Because that murdering batch of scoundrels are really the best fucking neighbors ANY country could hope for.

Bloodthirsty savages. Claiming "faith in god" at that.

[–] AnarchistArtificer@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Fuck, this killed me when I read it earlier. I was just bawling, because it feels like nothing that I, or others like me, do to try to resist this inhumanity actually makes a difference, and all we can do is to bear witness.

It hurts to see such cruelty. But I'd rather witness it than turn my attention away. This is a genocide, and I will never forgive those in my own country who are actively enabling, and in some cases, endorsing this brutality.

[–] spirinolas@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

I feel your frustration, but bearing witness is not useless. It just feels so lacking because a lot more is needed. But bearing witness is really the first part of Israel's reckoning.

I've been following the conflict since I remember existing. The impunity was always a source of frustration, but it was also how most people had no clue what was happening. Talking about the conflict you'd often get well-meant replies saying "oh, that war has been going for thousands of years" and "it's a religious conflict". People had no clue about the Nabka, the settler violence or the whole way Israel was created.

The October 7th attack changed all that. While the initial reaction was of outrage against the Palestinians and solidarity towards Israel, as soon as the IDF's methods became mainstream knowledge everything changed. The public relations operation Israel had which was successful so far, completely collapsed. Now the whole world is bearing witness to what Israel is. The mask of being a beacon of democracy in the region, fighting against Islamic fundamentalists has completely fell appart. Now the whole world can finally see them for what they are and there's no going back.

Notice how only extremists and anti-islamic sentiment now defend Israel. Normal people just avoid the subject or are outright horrified. But they can't do anything? Not for now, but the isolation towards Israel is becoming a lot real. And they are getting more desperate and erratic. Eventually they'll make an error that will bite them in the ass: commit such an atrocity that even the US can't justify, attack Turkey, etc.

The real question is how the Palestinians come out of this. Because, for a while now, it's clear that Israel is doomed. They have destroyed themselves when they went full-genocide. You can't ungenocide. The label is stuck, the isolation is real and nobody, besides the US, would lift a finger to help them if they were suddenly attacked by their neighbors or Turkey. But the US is not exactly stable right now, is it? When shit hits the fan in the US, Israel is on their own and they are doomed.

So, we have to do this. Keeping talking about it. Let everyone know and don't let anyone forget. And when the IDF goes too far don't allow anyone that is defending genocide to pretend they were always on the good side. Let the genocide enablers be shamed and ostracized for being the psychopaths they are.

Bear witness. Information is everything.

-The US Government!

[–] BananaLama@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 day ago

So it's not a wildfire?

[–] scarabic@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

I can’t believe the depths of inhumanity that people have sunk to over this strip of fucking desert.

[–] tirateimas@lemmy.pt 57 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Doesn't this fit in the definition of state terrorism?

[–] the_q@piefed.social 35 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Without consequences laws are just words.

[–] Tiral@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

So basically any politician.

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

A popular sentiment, but failing to differentiate those who are against things like this leads to not voting because "both sides".

[–] ImgurRefugee114@reddthat.com 16 points 2 days ago

They do stuff that fits the definitions for a lot of things but it doesn't seem to matter

[–] Solrac@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago

They are a terror "state". They just have enough blackmail and money to force others to turn a blind eye

[–] finallymadeanaccount@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah, they're like that. Not a shred of decency, humanity, morality, or courage among any IDF cumrag or zionist shitswizzler. There are good Jews out there, but this ain't them.

[–] djsiete@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

There are, but none of them live in Israel

[–] mig@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] djsiete@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

If you're still living in Israel then you're still part of the problem

[–] FanciestPants@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

You get to take the "wild" out of wildfires in these cases. This is just setting fires, or arson as it's called in criminal law.

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Wild in this case indicates forest as opposed to cities. Wildfire can be natural or arson.

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

The "wild" is in how they spread

[–] electric_nan@lemmy.ml 10 points 2 days ago

Death to Israel. May we all live to see its destruction.

[–] xenomor@lemmy.world 23 points 2 days ago

Nothing has more effectively undermined my confidence in and allegiance to the prevailing culture and society of the United States than our nonsensically self destructive systemic support for an organization as comically evil as Israel.

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Surely this will fix global warming

[–] Denvil@piefed.world 28 points 2 days ago (4 children)

Ok, ignoring the blatant disregard for human life Israel has exhibited over the last forever, isn't this monumentally stupid? Couldn't this just spread to Israel as well?

[–] Junkers_Klunker@feddit.dk 29 points 2 days ago (1 children)

They don’t care if they hurt themselves in the process as long as they’re hurting someone else more.

[–] smeenz@lemmy.nz 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

So, the same attitude as MAGA ?

[–] Junkers_Klunker@feddit.dk 4 points 1 day ago

More or less yea

Wow... are they playing war crime Pokémon? Gotta commit 'em all!

[–] Foofighter@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I was thinking about the slightly smaller *cide bingo Genocide Ecocide Suicide (by soldiers committing war crimes)

I like war crime Pokémon ~~more~~ less though.

[–] SGGeorwell@lemmy.world 19 points 2 days ago (2 children)

We will remember this, too, during the New Nuremberg Trials. We’ve hardly seen in all of history such a small group of people rack up such a litany of atrocities against their neighbors. It’s a horror for all time. It’s a stain on all mankind.

They are really trying the 'old testament plague' levels of petty wickedness now.

So they’ve started fires in Argentina, Patagonia, and Lebanon that we know of. These creatures that call themselves “Israelis” are truly vile.

[–] Nouvellalia@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Remember when it was being said that Israel was starting wildfires in America and people were yelling "that's antisemitic!"? Shoe fits though.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That's because they were blaming a jewish space laser

[–] Nouvellalia@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

"Antisemitism" was in the accusation of starting fires, not the technical feasibility of the suggested method.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

i mean it's kind of hard to separate one insanity from another with some people.

[–] Nouvellalia@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Which is super frustrating when trying to argue against genuinely antisemitic people. Israel really muddies up the waters with their multiple insanities, and it is super hard to separate their religious beliefs from their active genocides and constant , destructive, fascism.

[–] CyroSignal@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Let us hope the Lebanese succeed in extinguishing the fire Israel has ignited...
