[–] Jhex@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

my current retirement plan is to get a beetle and transform it into an electric cabriolet… I still have a few years to get the skills and money… assuming I can retire some day hahahaha

[–] Jarix@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

The University of British Columbia engineering department did that like 15 or 20 years ago. They may have released a bunch of their information that might be useful for when you retire.

Sounds like a great plan

[–] nao@sh.itjust.works 13 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Looks like it could house a fairly large battery

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 28 points 6 days ago (3 children)

or batter a fairly large house

[–] cannedtuna@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

Or a fairly large horse

[–] Apeman42@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

I prefer my houses with breading over batter.

[–] Asidonhopo@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago

I thought maybe it was missing, I will watch it soon. Always thought the trailers looked good!

[–] Widdershins@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Yeah watch the movie it is still good

Better now probably, it was ahead of its time. It's much more poignant now after the flood of superhero movies.

[–] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

A great use of a 3D printer would be HERKIMER badging for cars

Seems to be a Chevrolet 5100 panel van, what a cool looking vehicle

[–] db2@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

Cab over engine truck modified in to a panel truck. Could have been factory or aftermarket. It wasn't a regular production model like that though.

[–] Couldbealeotard@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

Looks like a car you'd see in a Final Fantasy game

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Goon-mobile, both types of goon…

[–] EntheoNaut@lemmy.ml 5 points 6 days ago

[–] henfredemars@infosec.pub 4 points 6 days ago

[–] 0ops@piefed.zip 3 points 6 days ago

That rig is disgusting... in the best way. So fucking rad

[–] Maultasche@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

[–] tpihkal@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

[–] __Lost__@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 6 days ago

Definitely something cool under the hood here

[–] mrmisses@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

I think more like 12-15. 6 or 7 on a bench along both sides facing each other in the back plus 2 up front, three if it's a bench seat.

[–] sidelove@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

Thassalotta goons

[–] hOrni@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

[–] Exusia@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

I can fucking smell this truck and the layer of oily grime it leaves everywhere.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 1 points 6 days ago

I wanna paint a dieselpunk train engine on that frontend

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago
