Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

[–] roofTophopper@lemmy.world 1 points 21 hours ago

I wish I could blame every single thing that I did wrong at work on someone else and have others be like, "oooohhh, that makes sense".

Must have been that sleepy Biden in the middle of the night who vandalized the pool.

[–] GuyFawkesV@lemmy.world 56 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Need to find those vandals that drained it, defaced the surface, and then tried to refill it to cover up their crime. That’s who should be held to account.

And picked a paint colour that promotes algae growth

[–] Akasazh@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

What kind of approach would you, Guy Fawkes, advocate?

[–] GuyFawkesV@lemmy.world 2 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

One that if carried out is final.

It’s the 250th anniversary. There will likely be some booms. Need to do our best for another 250. 😁

narcissists CANNOT admit they're wrong. Here is evidence of it.

The moment it turned green there were dumbasses there saying how it was sabotage. These people don't live in the real world anymore.

[–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 15 points 1 day ago

There used to be a thing called objective reality. Reagan killed it.

Look up the Fairness Doctrine. When they were first setting up the FCC there was bipartisan agreement to do things to make sure that broadcasters didn't have a monopoly on news in any town. they had a lot of restrictions placed on them, including how many stations one entity could own and how many editorials they could transmit.

First thing Reagan did was start 'deregulating' to make sure the press would never be able to do what they did in Watergate.

Yup, some vandals poured harsh chemicals into the pool and peeled the paint.

[–] Uranus_Hz@lemmy.zip 14 points 1 day ago (2 children)

We know. The vandal is in the Oval Office

[–] Zier@fedia.io 9 points 1 day ago

And we know that because we saw him tear down half of the house. And just last week there was a fight on the law with a very loud party.

[–] Gates9@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

Vandals be sackin’

[–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Reagan had dementia, too.

His wife cared enough about his legacy to keep good handlers around him.

I'm guessing Melania is at the point where she hides the TV remote and laughs while he has a fit trying to find it.

[–] Kirp123@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago (2 children)

You think Melania can even stand to be in the same room with him when not on camera?

[–] Buffalox@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Who the fuck cares what she can stand or not, she is every bit as bad as Donald.
This idea that she maybe is better is just an urban legend.

[–] mercano@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Wearing the “I really don’t care, do u?” jacket when going to visit a migrant child destination center tells you all you need to know about her.

[–] Buffalox@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Exactly, there is no situation where that message is proper to wear by a "first lady".

[–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 2 points 1 day ago

I know she hates him. Pretty much every public interaction they have screams it. At this point I think she's so bitter that just leaving wouldn't be enough, she's handing in to torture him.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

Christ, they are everywhere. I think some of them might be in the room with me right now!

[–] BradleyUffner@lemmy.world 16 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

[–] human@slrpnk.net 13 points 1 day ago

Here we see all of the evidence anything but his own poor decisions caused this outcome:

tumbling tumbleweed

It's like insecurity personified

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

The libs made that tumbleweed plant the algae. It's all down to big plant!

[–] watson387@sopuli.xyz 9 points 1 day ago

[–] shittydwarf@piefed.ca 6 points 1 day ago

A long as the police consider incompetence and corruption as likely causes.

All the way to the top!!

[–] Dryad@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Ah yes, let’s more time entertaining the mad kings senile delusions while he remains incapable of taking responsibility.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 4 points 1 day ago

They were stealing the special coating.

[–] santa@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 days ago

Always someone else…

Shame that there is no camera there

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago

Don't the police have anything better to do? Oh well, maybe it'll distract them from killing black people

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Nature = vandalism according to the Ministry of Troof.

I think we finally found the one thing Reagan didn't fuck up for the US.
