Israel is literally the largest threat to the US and its citizens. The only involvement they should have with our military is being on the receiving end of its attacks.

[–] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 50 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Israel is absolutely fucking with America but deserves to be cut off from the west and left alone with the neighbors they have provoked for generations.

[–] Fishnoodle@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I agree. They're not even worth the money and effort for us to attack. All we need to do is completely cut them off, seize their assets, hit a few key iron dome sites, then watch their neighbors exact a well deserved revenge.

Israel and its citizens are mistakes, and it's high time we fix that mistake.

Bloodthirsty vibes from this aside, Israel and its warmonger culture is working exactly as it was intended from the start. At best it’s just a caricaturized version of the US, which makes sense considering both of those countries’ intimate ties since the beginning.

“Solve” Israel and all anyone is doing is cutting off a branch when the rot starts at the roots. It would pretty much be a textbook example of the scapegoat mechanism. Obviously they aren’t innocent of anything, but solely removing their influence out of the equation will never change anything substantial.

Can't talk about Israel's history and leave the Brits out.

hard disagree, Israel is one of the greatest impediments to peace across the world. Even not counting the mass misery and mass murder they have committed, Without them in the middle east the place would be transformed and religious extremism would be less attractive to millions of people in many faiths.

My point is that a large part of what led to Israel being the way it is are the western values and ideals it was established specifically in mind of, namely colonialism, imperialism, and western exceptionalism. Solely getting rid of them doesn’t handle any of the root causes like that.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago (1 children)

our "great allies in the middle east". The trustworthy people we want to open up our secrets to...
They could at least have the competence to not be caught in ham handed half assed activities. Is just pretending to be competent too much to ask?

How do you know it wasn't the US gov that bugged their own workers phones

[–] spacegoat@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

Israel and Russia are the most significant threat to America. Right after Americans.

[–] medsal15@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

no never not this one :3 thanks for finding (or making) it

[–] Greyghoster@aussie.zone 13 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Israel cares only for Israel, most countries put self interest first so that’s only natural but Israel is extreme. What’s in it for the US to integrate in such a one sided relationship?

there might be an "end of days" rapture for Israelis, but I dont believe there will be one for everyone else. In their ego driven minds their tribes end is the "end of the whole world". Supremecist little shites. If they want it so bad I say let them have it. The US could just stop defending them and let them have their wish.

[–] Greyghoster@aussie.zone 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

A recurring theme of the current religious Republicans.

[–] backalleycoyote@lemmy.today 8 points 3 days ago

Jesus coming to gather his faithful is going to be more like that moment when you open the fridge drawer and realize there’s something you meant to get to but now it’s just a fuzzy black goo.

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 21 points 3 days ago (2 children)

This is why your phones modem shouldn’t install shit without user consent. Or better yet, at all.

[–] Sabata11792@ani.social 12 points 3 days ago

Phones don't believe in consent.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Israelis arent big on consent. I doubt they know what the word means.

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 8 points 3 days ago

Israel is an enemy, and many congress critters are in bed with them. Be they red or blue, those people are traitors.

[–] Telodzrum@lemmy.world 17 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

I’m not shocked that the US would do an Anschluss; I am shocked that the US is Austria in this situation.

[–] ZC3rr0r@piefed.ca 14 points 3 days ago (1 children)

On the one hand I'm amazed at how Israel has managed to manoeuvre itself in international politics to project such an outsized impact on the world, on the other hand I'm baffled how a nation as powerful economically and militarily as the US would be willing to even entertain the idea instead of calling out the blatant ridiculousness of the suggestion.

[–] ProfThadBach@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

We let then bomb the USS Liberty and did nothing about it. 34 dead 171 wounded. No consequences.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

didn't the us send them a thank you ham?

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

If we havent yet we should. Send it to them at relativistic speeds to cook it for them. We have the science, lets use it.

I think Scott Manley did the science on using frozen turkeys as a heat shield for reentry

[–] lechekaflan@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Nothing else like a man watching chaos unfold. I betcha there's double agents in the Mossad.

[–] HugeNerd@lemmy.ca -1 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Amazing what brainrot does to people. Here you have evidence of decades of Israel with both hands up the US's entire power structure, but you somehow still find a way to wind Russia up in there. Amazing.

Like, how exactly would Russia have these amazing double agents in the Mossad? How many? How did they get there? At the same time also able to manipulate the entire US into voting for Trump, the guy bombing Russian allies, all for ... what exactly? And with washing machine CPUs no less!

I'm a man watching silly people believe complete nonsense. And I'm loving it.

[–] Dremor@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Simply because a weak US is an advantage for any rising autocracy out here. China and Russia mainly. Any ressources focussed on the middle east is a ressource ttgat cannot go to the Pacific ocean to counter China influence, or to Eastern Europe to counter Russia imperialism.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Yeah it's not like we have extensive evidence of Russia interfering with our elections! And everyone knows that two things just cannot be true.

[–] CyroSignal@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Is it illegal to do that normally ? (even if they are spies)

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

On the other hand, I would not be surprised if the US put spyware on visitors mobiles. Any visitor, from any country.

All phones are spyware.
