Or something they know they they can't respond to adequately. Which, is almost everything
usually its a placeholder for BIGOTED WORD, like N word, the deragotory trans word, or any anti-POC word or straight up misogyny. you see this most in current movies and SHOWS. such as referring to ANGELS as masculine in nature, while they are GENDERLESS for the most part. when its not referring to super specifc media like DCU.
Woke is the opposite of based, and if something's not based then it's cringe.

I always enjoy seeing old school examples of “wokeness”, and while I’m the farthest thing from patriotic I like seeing the fighting of prejudice framed as a patriotic duty as well
you know, that shit felt so good when we were young and being patriotic didn't mean we were self serving everyone hating bastards :)
During a trial in Florida, DeSantis' officials were actually asked to define 'woke' and, for example, this is the answer General Counsel gave:
"it would be the belief there are systemic injustices in American society and the need to address them."
The horror! Wanting to make things better? Terrorists, obviously, all of them.

The reason they don't like it is because they're the ones responsible for the systematic injustices, and they're in denial about it.
They are not in denial. They just don't want to face that justice.
Hence the denial.
Their stance is essentially that racism, sexism, etc. is dead, therefore belaboring it is akin to McCarthyism hunting for KGB spies from the dead USSR.
Superman is the very definition of woke, and that's a good thing.
It kinda is a targeted political agenda, but not all targeted political agendas are evil.
"Hey can you stop being a piece of shit and instead choose to be kind?" is the targeted political agenda, which is highly offensive to pieces of shit.
Woke is a brilliant and evil political manipulation tool. As a conservative politician, you never have to state a position on any topic anymore. You just say you're against all the woke stuff and your captive idiots just assume you agree with them. They hear exactly what they want to hear.
The unemployed auto sector worker believes "woke" means Chinese EVs.
The bigots believe "woke" means allowing gay people to exist.
The wealthy believe "woke" means making rich people like them actually pay taxes.
It's a shortcut around actually saying anything of substance. You can get two people whose agendas are completely opposed to both believe that you are on their side because they both accept that "woke" means the thing they hate. And since you just said that you hate "woke", then you hate the same thing they do so they will support you through anything now.
Woke is the new 'unamerican' label, which was used to criticize protests, equality, etc.
In the 90s it was “political correctness.” Then it was “critical race theory.” Then it was “woke.” Now it’s “DEI.”
What hasn’t changed is the people spouting off this bullshit- Americans have had 30 years or so to deal with them and refuse to. When the victims can potentially be armed to the teeth, it’s hard not to victim blame.
Yeah “Woke” is basically how “Trotskyite” was used during Stalin’s regime. Everyone they don’t like and opposes them just gets the label. It’s a word they can use to give their followers permission to hate someone without having their followers use their own fucking brains.
My one critique on this countermovement is, I don’t like saying “It’s not woke!” Of course it’s woke - woke is a good thing. Woke means “I GET how shit is.”
The implied words by these grifters have been “woke…and being super naggy and preachy about it, and making all white men feel bad.” When I watch a movie like Django Unchained, and see a former slave slaughtering a bunch of slavers, I don’t feel preached to. I don’t get a sense it’s trying to make me feel bad. I just think: Yeah, man, fuck these slavers. I resolve to make the next generation better than them. And also: I’m glad this slight poetic statement on slavery was wrapped into a tense, action-packed, entertaining movie.
They tried this shit with feminism, diversity, equal opportunity, and every other word and term we like. Always inventing some context where all of them are bad. I don’t much like the retreat of saying “No no, this media isn’t woke!” Of course it’s woke! And that’s a good thing! People who hated “woke” need to take the L and wake up.
The antonym of 'woke' is 'ignorant'. I know which one I'd rather be.
In their constant fight in the so-called culture wars, asshole conservative reactionaries have different words in the past to define what they see as the enemy: "commie" (they never even differentiate between communists and socialists, just put them in the same bucket), "pinko", "politically correct" (this began as a satirical view by liberals towards certain liberals), and now "woke".
They were never gonna like an adaptation of Superman that was true to the source material. Of course Superman is woke. That's always been the point of Superman.
Superman is an illegal immigrant^1^, who has stolen American jobs and fought the president^2^. Clearly woke.
- Kryptonian by birth though one can argue him being found and adopted by the Kents might make it moot.
- Lex Luthor was president for a while and that was a whole thing.
Yeah. Being woke requires you to be aware of what is happening.
Superman just shows up, and says "TIME TO SAVE PEOPLE!!!". But he in general doesn't know anything.
To be woke, he'd need knowledge of WHY the orphanage is on fire. He just happened to be flying around, saw a fire, and saved the orphans.
He'd be much angrier if he knew the orphanage was on fire because state legislatures cut funding to support the orphanage all so some dipship govenor can buy a 6th yacht.
I mean... he is also a reporter and a genius. Chances are he's well aware of inequalities.
Superman got his start beating up slum lords. That's not a joke. Superman started out as the sort of guy who rooted out corruption. The "aw, shucks" version of Superman is both a bit of a later development (and also kind of the persona that he takes on as Clark Kent)
He seems delightfully woke to me.

Superman fought Nazis and the KKK.
Tweet von @CasioWiser:Anonymous got that woke mind virus @elonmusk Antwort von @YourAnonNews: You fools throw around the word "woke" like it's some kind of slur, it's actually quite funny. You probably don't know the meaning of the word, so let us school your tiny little mind. The word means that we're alert to social injustices - such as racism and discrimination, that we're cool with LGBTQ+ rights, we're aware of economic disparities between the super-rich and working class, and that we're cool with equal rights for all people. So - when you use it as a slur, we understand that you are against these things - that you are pro racism and discrimination, that you are not ok with LGBTQ+ people and you're cool with the super-rich raping the working class - and that you're not ok with equal rights. Don't hide, just come out and say it - tell everyone you're a Nazi.

Superman is in fact woke
Not so sure about that, given that he still allows billionaires to exist in his universe...
This is a fair point, but I'm still calling it "Woke Superman" because it's funny.
Sitting around:
"Hey, wanna watch Woke Superman?"
"That the one with the dog wearing a cape?"
"Yes."
"Yeah, put it on."
Woke means "aware of systemic inequality". It's been part of the English language for a hundred years, and the definition hasn't shifted much.
When a Republican says they're "anti-woke", they mean that they are in favor of hiding systemic inequality, because they want to preserve it. They're usually using the word correctly, even though they've failed to define it explicitly.
Nope, and if you ask them to explain what they mean by woke, they can't.

No, don't use the edited version. The original is so much better.
"A book for basic dickheads"
Didn't watch, but I have to say I am super anti-woke in the morning; I really, really love sleep.
The only anti-woke cap I respect:

Person: Doesn't do a hate crime
Conservatives: And I took that personally!
