I wish it would hurry up, going to work everyday is a goddamn nightmare
It would be a crying shame if this stampede towards so-called AI made such a great upstanding company as Meta go under. Sad. So very sad.
Meanwhile, I'll add bankrupting Meta as a possible fourth useful thing this stuff can do. The list is currently (1) help folks with disabilities, (2) help in medicine, (3) defraud MAGA supporters and now this will come next.
Don’t get me wrong, I would be pretty pissed to be laid off, but how fucking hilarious would it be if all the captains of industry keep cutting their staff so aggressively that it actually cuts the bottom out of the LLM spend because they just need a lot fewer licenses?
Yes, I know, they’re just gonna bill per usage in the very near future, but it’s funny to imagine them shooting themselves even more in the foot like that.
Meta is cutting 8000 jobs because there is nothing to do.
That just shows a lack of leadership and vision
