/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Lea Thompson has appeared in one episode of PIC, and directed two. Yes they are episodes dealing with time travel.

I remembered her guest spot, but didn't know she also directed. Awesome.

Seeing her name in the credits of “Assimilation” made me smile. I know the assignment of this episode might have been random, but someone must have realized how coincidental it was.

EDIT: Lea walking onto the set: “Damn it. They hired me for the time travel, didn’t they?”

Is there something wrong with the Earth's gravitational pull?

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Nah doc. It's not heavy, it's my brother.

[–] lath@piefed.social 1 points 2 weeks ago

It's lopsided.

You just helped me name my next cat thank you. If it's a one eyed cat (or something is neat about one eye) Churrodin. Otherwise, Churrozymandias or Churrodalys, maybe Churrophilia. I like churros.

(also I just learned the name Oilibear I am so using that somewhere)

Once our species gets out into space and starts meeting other species .... and creatures, and plants, and organisms, and objects, and shapes of various kinds ... there will be a percentage of our fellow humans who will want to 'do things' with other these other things.

And people'd be like, "There he goes. Homeboy fucked a Martian once."

Aren't the Stranger Things kids underage?

[–] InvalidName2@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 weeks ago

No, they're literally all adults now. They were practically old enough to start getting social security by the final season.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 2 weeks ago

the last season they were all grown up and made too many people cringe because they tried de-age them.

[–] lath@piefed.social 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I can't say i understand what that has to do with this (didn't watch the whole show) and I'm guessing they did grow up by the end of it, but pre-2k, there were way fewer restrictions on what kids were allowed to watch at home or in cinemas.

Re-read Phlox's line. Took me a bit too.

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Not at this point, no.

Still feels weird that people obsess over them that way though

[–] Klear@quokk.au 1 points 2 weeks ago

I never watched the show, I'm vaguely aware it has multiple seasons but zero idea of how much time passes in-universe.

Wouldn't really call that obsessing.

screan capture from Star Trek Enterprise, Vox Sola, with someone being held in tentacles. Kinky.

If you wanted to know one of the things that came to Doc Phlox's mind.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

phlox has 3 wives, and the wives have 3 husbands each. so they likely are used to seeing orgies.

[–] InvalidName2@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Thank you for not judging.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Oh I judge. 4 stars, but the way
