Girls aren't interested and I don't want the guys it would pull.

[–] Shellofbiomatter@lemmus.org 11 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

I will die on the hill that oversized sweatpants and t-shirts are the most comfortable clothing item.

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I wore a toga to a party once and it was low-key my favourite thing I've ever worn

[–] Shellofbiomatter@lemmus.org 1 points 3 weeks ago

That's interesting, well it is a loose fitting and breathable. I Hhave to try that one out at some point.

[–] Micromot@piefed.social 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Depends on the size of the t-shirt

[–] Shellofbiomatter@lemmus.org 3 points 3 weeks ago

As long as its oversized and loose. Couple of sizes up is generally good enough.

[–] Flamekebab@piefed.social 10 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Dadbod.

I've got the legs but I've literally never been skinny enough for something like this, even at my leanest as a teenager.

[–] Drekaridill@lemmy.wtf 3 points 3 weeks ago

Same, not for the lack of trying.

I just don't want to

[–] bold_omi@lemmy.today 6 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

I don't because I don't want to. I don't want to because:

  • I don't like fishnets (I am not a fish).
  • Tails (just no).
  • Short shorts are uncomfortable, and they make you look like you're pulling a Donald Duck if you have a long shirt.
  • I can't fathom a sweater being that shrunken—it would be too tight; I like breathing.
  • My thigh is not a place for a random circulation-restricting belt.
  • Random chains and buckles cause movement to be noisy.
  • I would be cold if I had my entire torso exposed.

My advice is to dress in what's comfortable.

[–] NannerBanner@literature.cafe 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Am I not seeing the tails?

OH.... I legitimately thought that was supposed to be a little fire sprite or stylized lick of fire.

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 5 points 3 weeks ago

The economy. I can't afford that look.

[–] caboose2006@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

Looks uncomfortable to me. Also, my beer gut.

[–] Trex202@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

Takes too long to get dressed

  1. i'm fat
  2. i will never find fitting boots
[–] sloppy_diffuser@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Not that I love supporting Amazon, but onlymakerheels go up to size 15 in women's (13.5ish men's) in most styles. Their off shoot brand Vecipatcare seem to be in men's sizes going up to size 15 also.

Sexytag goes up to 15, but haven't been super impressed with their designs.

Wetkiss heeled combat boots go up to 13 in women's (size 11.5ish in men's).

[–] TomatenMark@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

i'll save your suggestions, thanks a lot!

i'm still fat, but i'll at least have nice boots

[–] sloppy_diffuser@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

I started wearing heels in private at 245lbs 5'6", so short and fat. Actually motivated me to start taking weight loss seriously (157lbs now).

I'm middle aged and eventually looked into GLP-1 medications as progress was difficult compared to my 20s and 30s. Tripled the rate of weight loss I was making on my own. Its expensive unfortunately if your insurance doesn't cover it, but it worked really really well.

Name brand vendors are ridiculously priced, but composite vendors (pharmacy mixes) are much cheaper. Still looking at ~$100/week which prices most people out who could likely benefit from it due to foods that promote weight gain being cheaper. If you do consider it, don't be fooled by introductory pricing where you taper up in dose. Its typically much cheaper and when you go to renew the prescription it jumps up to what I quoted.

[–] blargh513@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 weeks ago

I'm glad I don't have big feet. Womens size 11 boots are not super common, but I have found most everything I've wanted with enough searching.

Some of us have arms

[–] BiteSizedZeitGeist@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago
[–] saturn57@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It is because the average man has the body type of just that—a man. These proportions aren't just unrealistic or unhealthy; they are physically impossible for most people.

[–] PugJesus@piefed.social 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

what.

I wouldn't count myself as particularly twinkish, but, copious amounts of body hair that I'm quite fond of aside, this would be far from an impossible look for me to pull off (in structural terms - ymmv whether the style suits me well) - or a number of my friends.

Admittedly, the demure 'arms-back' pose minimizes the appearance of broad shoulders.

[–] saturn57@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

https://multisite.eos.ncsu.edu/www-ergocenter-ncsu-edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/18/2016/06/Anthropometric-Detailed-Data-Tables.pdf

On page page 26 it states that the average man has the distance between buttocks and shoulder equal to 59.78 cm.

We can use this to measure the hip width.

According to the same source, this would place them between 90th and 95th percentile for hip width.

The waist width is the actual statistic which is ridiculous, but I can't find data for a minimum value.

[–] PugJesus@piefed.social 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I just lazily scaled it with aspect ratio unlinked, but I'm not sure an under-10% drop in hip width (which by your own source, would place it at the 50th percentile) is quite the aesthetic difference you're claiming it is.

[–] saturn57@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Hip size is just the easiest to quantify. Most people just don't have the combination of thick legs and thin torso. I know many people who have either one but only 1 out of 10s who has both.

[–] PugJesus@piefed.social 2 points 3 weeks ago

His legs are really not that thick. Sit in that pose, your thighs will be on display.

The most egregious bit would be the thin torso, though I'd allow for some idealization considering that this is fundamentally about clothing style; but that, again, even adjusted to a broader proportion does not really fundamentally change the aesthetic.

I would never tell someone to have Google recommend them dubious search results for the rest of their lives, but you could, theoretically, Google femboys and femboy workouts and see a large number of people with body types like this and a range in how they display while maintaining the aesthetic.

Some of it is up to the luck of the draw with genetics - but this is not a fundamentally unrealistic look for most people who are in the rough weight range displayed.

[–] AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 weeks ago

I'm too heavy to make that look good. lol

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 weeks ago

I look like a displaced 5 foot five viking and prefer to wear clothes that keep my skin from burning so khaki, camo, and suede. That is why, also id probably just be uncomfortable, I don't like folks looking at me as a baseline, even if I was a twink I'd still dislike the concept.
